Burma, Moving forward to new direction?

Recent statement from Daw Aung San Suu Kyi saying that " I stand ready to cooperate with the Government in order to make this process of dialogue a success and welcome the necessary good offices role of the United Nations to help facilitate our efforts in this regard " is very wise statement as a national and political leader.This is why she is being a democracy and leadership icon of Burma....

Blame Game is Over, Just Help People!

I was reading Denis D Grey for “If Junta Falls, What Then?” ( http://www.irrawaddy.org/article.php?art_id=9107 ) in Irrawaddy and thanks to him for just writing the facts as most of his pioint of view are very similar to mine.We, Burmese are afraid to admit the realistic facts. Most of us pro-democracy activists inside and exile, and intellectuals living abroad are running too much emotion and all ....

We need military in Burma,But we need UN more urgently!

The outcome from UNSC meeting after UN envoy Mr Gambari visit to Myanmar (Burma) is not that hopeful to resolve this country various problems . There is no concrete resolution and effective action to help to the people of Burma by world body. Even though, I have expected the similar outcome even before UNSC meeting, I felt that once again we, people of Burma are ignored and abandon by the world body.....

On Lee Kuan Yew's comments on Burma

I have always respected Mr Lee Kuan Yew for his wisdom, vision and outspoken nature even though I could not agree some of his opinion sometimes.He is right in his today's comment that "unstable Burma is a time-bomb in the region".In fact, Burma has been a time bomb for many years itself. Why UN should take effective action on Burma!

I was not surprised that Burma’s ruling dictator Gen Than Shwe did not want to meet when UN envoy Mr Gambari fist day visit to the junta’s new hideout capital Naypyidaw .I’m also not surprised to hear that Burma's Foreign Minister Nyan Win blaming for "political opportunists” for recent peaceful protest in Burma.People across the world have seen many photos and video of last week protest taken b....

Thanks for the UN and international community’s concerns on people of Burma.We, Burmese are eagerly hoping for any miracle and outcome of UN’s envoy Mr Gambari’s visit to Burma and his assessment of the situation in Myanmar after almost two months of peaceful persistent protests against the country ruling junta.Meantime, military is forcing people to come to their arranged anti- pro democracy protes....
