Thailand : The Falklands scenario -

During the early months of 1982, Argentine Commandos landed on the insignificant South Georgian islands. A precursor to the Falklands conflict.

On Friday 2nd April, Argentine forces invaded the Falkland Islands.

The important thing to remember, is that a major labour strike was planned by the labour unions in Argentina on Monday 5th April.

This was a major diversion against profound internal problems. The Argentine 'Junta' had failed economically.

What are the parallels with Thailand, if any?

The Thais have been sending, 'people' (Yellow shirts), to agitate the situation at Prieah Vihear.

Shades of South Georgia.

The Thai military have just received some serious financial backing via a loan to the Thai government. They have money for new weapons.

The Thai Government does not like the growing power of the Red shirt movement. Neither does the 'Elites'.

Just like the Falklands conflict, both sides need a diversion because of internal problems.

Enter Cambodia !

The Thais believe that their military are supreme and can roll-over the Cambodians. That they can win easily !

The Cambodians have had rather a lot of recent history of military conflict.

That counts !

Are these the first shots of a war between Thailand and Cambodia ?

The motives are clear. The Abhisit Government are useless. They need something to divert attention away from domestic problems. Something that diverts the people away from Red Shirt Democracy and Freedom of Speech.

Something that suspends democracy and gets the people on the streets shouting 'Viva Argentina' ! Or in this case 'Viva Thailandia' !

This is a very dangerous game. By diverting the public attention away from popular Red Shirt protests, into War. To consolidate their eliteist position. They may well have bitten off more that they can chew ?

They already are banging their drum; we have the best, we will win easily !

Yeah right ?

The games that the elite play, can very well go wrong.

When was the last time that the Thais won a real battle? Five hundred  years ago ?

Fantasy Land does not exist in real warfare !

What dangerous game is Abhisit and his clowns playing ?

Wake up school prefect Abhisit, hard men are at your door !
