Chinese fighter aircraft massacre women and children in Dafur

China 'is fuelling war in Darfur'

The BBC has found the first evidence that China is currently helping Sudan's government militarily in Darfur.

The Panorama TV programme tracked down Chinese army lorries in the Sudanese province that came from a batch exported from China to Sudan in 2005.

The BBC was also told that China was training fighter pilots who fly Chinese A5 Fantan fighter jets in Darfur.

China's government has declined to comment on the BBC's findings, which contravene a UN arms embargo on Darfur.

The embargo requires foreign nations to take measures to ensure they do not militarily assist anyone in the conflict in Darfur, in which the UN estimates that about 300,000 people have died.

More than two million people are also believed to have fled their villages in Darfur, destroyed by pro-government Arab Janjaweed militia.

Panorama traced the first lorry by travelling deep into the remote deserts of West Darfur.

They found a Chinese Dong Feng army lorry in the hands of one of Darfur's rebel groups.

The BBC established through independent eyewitness testimony that the rebels had captured it from Sudanese government forces in December.

The rebels filmed a second lorry with the BBC's camera. Both vehicles had been carrying anti-aircraft guns, one a Chinese gun.

Yes, with taking this into account it is still probably the best available. Unless you know of a better source.

Yuri, the BBC is honest but is often fooled by trusting too much its news feeds such as Reuters and Associated Press, and also by freelancers in the field and embedded reporters.

Ian,
I was referring to your comments about the BBC, still the best with all its faults?
People are fine, its governments and 'isms' that are the problem. Greed and a lust for power and control.

Yuri, I am starting to wonder if anyone truly reads comments, did I not say your comment was a reasonable synopsis.
Everyone knowdays seems to live in an increasingly black and white world.
Sure the Chinese government has a lot to be accused of, but if you visit China the people (except in Hong Kong) are so much better off.
I think the happiest man I have ever met was a young Chinaman about 35 years old with a plump little wife, an even plumper baby, 5 beehives, a roadside stall selling honey and a rectangular tent for a home.

Ian,
You are a man with carpet slippers and a pipe !
If you were the same age as now in 1935 you would have said,"Look the Nazis have made the trains run on time and built motorways!"
Strewth !

Yuri, removing all the fancy language from your last comment that is a reasonable synopsis
I think there are a few other players you have left out, doesn't South Amrica deserve a mention?

Ian = Too cynical ?

Chairman Piset is the running dog warlord supporter of the unreconstituted hegemonic Chinese fascist expansionism. He helps promote their greedy lust for power and repression of the masses, especially the Third World. To them Chinese piloted Fantan jets blowing away innocent women and children is merely a means to an end to gain influence and resources in Africa. They believe the Blacks will kill one another anyway so better support a wicked corrupt Black Government who will give the Chinese what they want.
China like Russia, Burma etc are amoral and take advantage of the 'softness' of the Western Democracies.
China supports Iran,Syria, and plunders Africa. Russia approves.
One day this will produce a terrible conflict with the West.

These days I am rather cynical of the BBC, on the other hand I am even more cynical of Piset's pro Chinese propaganda, where does that leave me?

Most enlightening, chairman Piset.

I wonder how many people are going to suffer in order for the scumbags to get rid of the smog in time for the olympics?

Piset

Hi Yuri:

Your topic led me to think of two things when you mentioned, "Chinese fighters," that is, the Chinese warrios or the Chinese war planes.

Then, in your message, there were no mentions of Chinese soldiers. You only mentioned the Arab Janjaweed militia.

You did mentioned BBC's reported that it was told of Chinese trainers training fighter pilots whio fly Chinese A5 Fantan fighter jets in Darfur. Here, if you link BBC's reliability bout its reports regarding China, that piece of news could well be 10-20 years old and could have been somewhere else, as in the case when the photographs of Nepalese Police cracking down Nepalese protestors were showed as the photographs of Chinese soldiers cracking down Tibetan rioters 15 years after that photo was taken.

You did mentioned two sightings of Dong Feng, a very widely used brand of trucik from China, one of them reported, (hearsay) to be seized by Sudanese rebels in December (presumedly 2006 or 2007 or some other years, definitely not 2008).

Well, I simply hope that you wont mind my getting some good laughs from this "sinophobia" expression.

Have a pary, folks! Enjoy your "scary fairy tale parties."

I will not be back.
