A few things to mention:13 Beloved, the best Thai film of 2006, has received an English-subtitled DVD release in Singapore. If you haven't caught on, DVDs of Thai films released in Thailand routinely have no English subtitles. This is done so the film companies don't have to pay royalties to to the subtitle writers, and it saves a bit on production costs of the DVDs, and as a bonus, adds exclusivity ....
