The feature-film sidebar of the Thai Short Film and Video Festival, the Thai Film Foundation's Digital Forum starts on Thursday and runs until Sunday at Grand EGV at Siam Discovery Centre.
The fest opens with The Truth Be Told: The Case Against Supinya Klangnarong, a documentary directed by Pimpaka Towira that has taken just as long, if not longer, to bring to the screen as the three-year legal case against the media activist.
Here's the schedule for the Digital Forum:
- Thursday, September 6, 8pm: The Truth Be Told (invitation only)
- Friday, September 7, 6.30pm: Everything Will Flow, directed by Pallop Hoharin
- Saturday, September 8:
- 3.30pm, The Truth Be Told
- 6pm, Phone Mood, directed by Thanwarin Sukhapisit
- Sunday, September 9, 11am to 9pm: Book One: The Legend of the Lizard Princess, directed by Lav Diaz
Yes, you read Sunday's schedule correctly -- it's a nine-hour film, by veteran indie director Lav Diaz from the Philippines, telling the story of a pilgrimage by ox cart. It'll be shown in three-hour segments, with intermissions. Tickets for the other shows will be 80 baht, but 250 baht for Book One).
