Rewards of life....

Sometimes when I look around in my garden, I wonder why we need more than feeling content with what mother earth gives us.  It's quite soothing really. Here I share with you guys - rewards of my life - after a long battle outside my house.

All photos taken by iPhone camera. Not bad, I think.

Windy, nah... you'll get a pay-cut for your big lie

IceBerg, ...not a phiosophical blog at all. Just watch the flowers and relax -- he he. I just want to share the beuty with you guys. Actually, I like to blog but now I'm very busy so..... Well, I don't mind if you see it as a philosophical one. But I'm not a philosopher. It's not sexy to be one.... he he

btw. the 2nd photos is Lantom แคระ - the full grown is only at my waistline. The flowers and leaves are also smaller than the normal Lantom.

Khunpan, thanks for reminding me about the names of flowers. I'm so bad at names. but Leelawadee is the easier one of all since it has been changed from lantom.

Taking about Nang Khoom, this year is the first time I see the flowers (well after a long long time).

HappyJack... LOL - I like it.. actually I grow old too..

noonin.. just keep buying. Sometimes I have a funny idea that the government should reward us something that we help making the country green. don't you think.

Yabua, I know what you mean. Tropical garden has its charm. And oh..somtimes when I sit alone at ight, I can smell flowers from my and neighbours' gardens too. isn't it nice?

Ian comment 8 Sometimes, if the slugs don't get at them first.
Yes in England I grew food plants as well as plants of beauty. I am too lazy now to try to grow Thai vegetables. My mango tree ,which I bought and had transplanted to my (son's) house has just produced the most delicious fruit. My Thai wife knew which variety of mango tree to buy.
That's how Thai I am.

Noonin, 2. You have become too Thai. In England the taste of vegetables straight from the garden is far superior to those in the shops and supermarkets.
Plus there is a sense of achievement and closeness to nature in eating your own vegetables.

What is wrong with you lovely Veen?

So philosophical!

Why are you looking at life as if you are so tired of all the fun at the office?

ee ee ee I am only joking!

I miss tropical gardens. They are so relyable like a true friend. They are always there and always beautiful with gentle and sweet scents in the air.

I like European gartens too. Waiting to see the first green leaf in spring gives the feeling of waiting for the come back of a long lost friend who sometime never comes back at all.

P Veen-WOW! the first picture is called "Narng Khoom" and that single stem of flower comes only once a year....and sometimes not at all! Mine came this year too!

The other 2 are called Leelawadee, changed from the old and not too nice of a name...."Lun Thom" from our Pratep many years ago. The flowers smell so nice that you can actually fry them crispy and tastes yummy too!

Veen some of your flowers I have in my garden, others I think I have. They are a constant delight.
Every week a man in a pick up pulls up in front of my house to tempt me to buy another plant. He usually succeeds.

Ian, I grow flowers, vegetables I buy at the market.
See Al's beautiful photographs of Spring flowers.
Nothing is as beautiful as a field of wild flowers.
We who are hooked on gardening try to replicate natural beauty.

Ah, human psychology, women grow flowers and sometimes fruit, men grow vegetables
