What an earth-shaking research for Thai men!

Here is the finding:

"A recent global sex survey found that 70 per cent of " Thai women cannot achieve orgasm. Others reach orgasm through masturbation or having sex with another woman, while 79 per cent of Thai men climax during sex, according to research by condom manufacturer Durex."

Following the release today, the newsroom was erupting with comments. It seems to hurt the male ego so hard that they can’t afford not to voice their comments.

Here are some comments I can gather from the newsroom. You can share your thought with me.

For privacy reason, I shall not call them by their work definition.

Editor One: This poll makes men look like Derby County while ignoring the fact that some of them could be like Arsenal in the season where they didn’t lose a single match.

Editor Two: I’m not worried much about women. I’m worried about myself!!!

Editor Three: It's so embarrasing for mankind.

Military news expert: Thai women surely have ability to reach organsm. It must be the case that a woman meets a wrong guy.

Political news writer: I doubt the research methodology. Who are the respondents in the survey?

Webeditor: It's about time Thai men adapt the Democrat Party's slogan: "People come First" to solve this problem.

I think Stephff, in his comment relayed through Veen, overlooks two important things. Firstly, with the exception of Narc and a few ex-pat Thais we are all mature, and presumably experienced males
Secondly this topic has been debated under various guises numerous times in these blogs.

No she’s definitely not Pojaman – the woman I draw is supposed to be your typical rich Thai-Chinese woman in his late 40’ whose husband has already taken a younger and more desirable mistress who starts desperately to fill up the lack of sexual fulfillment with more compulsive shopping and spending addiction ( I mean, that’s my assumption and that’s caricatural of course – I suppose that in reality , all addiction ( in this case ‘shopoholism’ ) is more linked to a feeling of ‘missing affection’ rather than lack of sex ( like sex addiction is definitely something like a lack of affection ). But because Pojaman is a real-life caricature of the super-materialistic rich Thai-Chinese so no wonder she’s looking alike to my own caricature …



By the way , I take the opportunity of being able to express myself in this blog ( sorry but I am not really interested in blogging ) to say that I have been very deceived by the level of the debate . Poomjai, WW and GG have given an interesting debate on the same topic. I tend to agree with WW: ‘ejaculation’ = male orgasm but if sometimes it is not a great one, it may be equal to Catch 22’s sneeze and worse than the beautiful goal.

PJ, interesting enough, a woman can have a good sex without an orgasm. The pleasure is still there. Have you ever watched an exciting Prem game that ends with 0-0? Perhaps Ian can explain it based on scientific fact.

Ah, have seen this topic many times already. I believe that the lack of insights before marriage, the exaggeration of the pornographic materials, and the boasting stories could all contributed to either the unrealistic expectations, mania, or lack of consideration on the sex partner's feeling. Perhaps, some of the men might have quietly believe that the female's sexual desire disappeared with their youth, attractive body and beautiful face. Thus, tend to ignore their partner's needs?

For the female part, in Thailand, the culture, especially int he past may have required them to suppress their own lack of satisfaction. The male partner simply consider things as being finished when he is "done" with it.

Sulasno, I don’t think we need to conduct a poll for that. Women *do* get horny. And from what I’ve seen/heard lately [I get the inside scoop – my younger brother is still in high school ], it’s more like sexually active between 13 – xx years old. But, then again, it depends, I guess. I know some girls who just don’t enjoy sex, period. And Lalida just admitted she’s not, so yeah.

I do believe, however, that women get hornier as they get older, most of all when they’re single and in their 30s/40s. Pomjuk is completely correct with the women-wanting-kids-before-they-get-menopause thing.

Women are not at their performance peek in their 30s, since they can perform at anytime in life, they are however much more hornier at that age. I believe the behavior can be explained by Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution (or natural selection). Ironically women’s fertility starts declining after the age of 35. So, the hormone sends warning messages to the women brains that their fertilities is declining in 5 years and if they want to have children then they should have more sexual intercourse. Since most of us are the decedents of women who have this genetic mutation. Women who lack of this warning mechanism or the warning comes too late in life bear less number of children or no children at all.

Moreover, orgasm has nothing to do with women’s ability and probability of being pregnant therefore women’s orgasm is put in the back burner when compare to men’s. Since men’s orgasm is required for the ejaculation of sperms; the same natural selection process puts the important of male’s orgasm into perspective.

There seems to be some confusion between ability and performance. A male is at peak ability around the age of 18 years old and a woman at around 30 years old. However, biological ability is not the same as satisfactory performance. It takes time and experience to learn how to fully satisfy a partner. An 18 year old male may get a large erection and produce copious sperm, but neither will matter to a female if he spends only a few minutes satifying himself. Most women prefer an older, experienced man, one who knows how to please and how to pace himself to her speed.
Additionally, as a male gets older his penis gets shorter but larger in girth (for simple physics reasons), again most women prefer girth to length, particularly if they have a low cervix.

First we should look at the % of women who can get one on their own or someone else regularly. If they can't then it is not really the mans fault.

Then we should look at the % of men who are seriously trying to give their female partner one.

It is not always ignorance, it is sometimes intention as per WW C43 and windy.

OK, now all this talk of warm champagne and mooring boats is very good and relevant (and if I may say, a bit of a turn on), but let's talk about intimacy.

One of the things that makes sex good or not is the level of emotional closeness and intimacy with the partner. If you are making love (as opposed to just having sex with) someone that you really feel close to, love even, then the act often comes with a whole set of intimate moments and rituals which are personal to the couple involved. So for example, there might be: a memorable song that they like to make love to (remember to burn several copies onto a CD so you don't need to keep fiddling with the remote - so I am told!!). Or both might give each other massages beforehand that get them in the mood. Or they might have a special place to go, like a hotel for a weekend away with a fabulous bed that they love to roll around together on. Or they might like to take a candle lit bath together before hand and spend time kissing and fondling each other. Or they might go out together and the gal will choose some sexy lingerie that the man will then buy for her, so that the lingerie is significant to them both.

Any other suggestions on how intimacy might work between loving couples?

There is a sliding scale of greatness depending on a number of factors - how intimate you feel with your partner, how tired you are, whether you had lots of alcohol to drink beforehand, whether it is your first ejaculation of the evening...
