A friend came visiting and left wiht tears to know that i slave myself in the office, from 6.30 am to 5.00pm. Nothing to say and would not be able to answer her questions:

1. Can Thai be a little creative ?

2. Why the education system is so bad when those sitting in the ministry are highly educated and even overseas trained, the schooling hours are all the same from north to south. The kids are suffering and the teachers too.

3. The high schools have 'kap wang' free periods and this is not a country for that.

4.

5.

More to go, but i am speechless.

Look at the admin, s/he is one of the TIT, s/he could not take in the critisim, it is time for me to leave this blog. Sick of it.

Why waste time to write when they are not thinking. Critical thinking is far away.

Yes, Ian, you are right that the top and bottom relationships.

Those kind and generous ones are from the bottom classes. If the admin can provide the data of the generousity and kindness of the middle classes and upper classes, it will brighten the world.

When information super highway set in, the world is smaller and those who don't read two languages will ended up in a nut shell. But surprise me that admin, a nation staff who reads two, perhaps three or more, i did not know, is so negative in thinking.

Windy, I see it as a cultural statement rather than racist. It is not uniquely Thai, this just happens to be a Thaicentric blog:-) But I meet the same attitudes in Malaysia and the Philipinnes, perhaps less so in Hong Kong.
You may be aware of the common acronym "TIT", not just used by farangs but by many Thais also. Having said that, yes there are many " kind, generous, compassionate, and smart" Thais, however to be honest all four qualities combined would be rare to meet in anyone, not just a Thai:-)
Unfortunately in modern society these sort of people rarely rise to the top.

Ian...
About the "Thai mentality"...not all Thais are like that, there are good people. But I understand what you mean, my friends abroad whenever they get bored of Thainess would say "Thai mentality" too.

But it's like a racist statement and I think there are many Thai mentality that is kind, generous, compassionate, and smart.

You ask, "Why the education system is so bad when those sitting in the ministry are highly educated and even overseas trained"
Because they have the Thai mentality, bow to those above them, kick those below them, and always look for the secret money.
Can I sell you a few degrees?

Then who is creative?
American? European?
I don't know, but I'm sure that
that question is not creative.
If you don't like what you're doing,
just quit the job. No one can force you
to do what you don't like.
