Got this piece from Lao National Film Archive. An 80 minute movie was produced more than 30 years ago when the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party newly took the power. It is the first movie making in Laos during the new regime.Buadaeng, (Red Lotus), is a story of Lao girl fighting for freedom of love along with national liberation. 100,000 kib a shot at Patuxay

A Lao journalist said he was asked to pay 100,000 kip (Bt 350) for taking pictures at Patuxay, a lao version of Arc de Triomphe. But I took all these pictures without charge because there was no official around when I took the shots.from the top of Patuxay you can see a building of Laos Prime Minister Office.Perhaps, they need money to repay debt to Beijing who helped finance renovation of Patuxay.Bi....
