Rain and Robe in Burma

Burma’s military junta was in a serous trouble with the on-going Buddhist monk protest throughout the country. Generals in Nay Pyi Taw dispatched their foreign minister Nyan Win to Beijing and Moscow two weeks ago to explain the situation and sought assistance to reduce international pressure over the matter.

Nyan Win managed to get partly support from China and Russia as the two superpowers voted against a US proposal to raise Burma’ issue in the United Nations Security Council.

However, the issue was finally in the agenda as Washington won majority vote in the 15-member council mid this month.

Nyan Win, reportedly would accuse “powerful” member of the UNSC for ganging up on Burma when he has a chance to take a floor in the UN General Assembly meeting in New York on Wednesday (Sep.26)

This struggle is tough for the junta as the protest on the ground is going on and pressure from the international community during the UN annual meeting is mounting.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was about to hold a meeting with her counterpart from the Asean on the sideline of the UN meeting this week. Diplomatic sources declined to predict the atmosphere of meeting but said it might be hotter than last year. Other sources said Rice would ignore representative from Burma to send her signal of disagreement to the junta.

No matter how the meeting is, the Burmese junta was walking under the heavy rain.

I'm going to write this here as that idiot Yoon keeps deleting my comments from his blog.

I used to respect him as a journalist, but lately he has lost all credibility with me (not that he cares). He's doing nothing but harm by re-hashing a 15 year old interview with Aung San Suu Kyi and now telling everyone about the 'undeground' source of getting information out. I guarantee you 100% that the generals sitting in the lap of luxury in Napidaw access these sites to keep abreast of events and idiotic postings by someone (once) respected does no good whatsoever. I said yesterday that the military will be firing before the end of the week. I said it with confidence, but there's no way I would say what I base my conclusions on.
Yoon you're a cast iron egotistical moron!!

I still want to know why the monks in Thailand are not protesting and rallying in support of their fellow monks in Burma.
If these were Moslem countries then the entire Moslem world would be in turmoil. There are times when Buddhist pacifism is counterproductive.

The word from inside, which I sincerely hope is not true, is that by the end of the week if things are the same the troops will start firing.
Aung San Suu Kyi has been moved from her house to prison and I think this is an ominous sign.

Dear supalak
Which you said correct. The Burmese junta was walking under the heavy rain. more over I don't think so this time junta no have choice due they already reach to end of the road. Meantime I do request to all Burmese people and friends of human rights.
I strongly believe that as you probably know, the situation in Burma has reached a boiling point. Yesterday, more than 500,000 people including Buddhist marched throughout across Burma calling for human rights and democracy.
The marches were led by Buddhist monks, the most revered people inside Burma.

However “ all Burmese people who are stay in out side of country legal or illegal to request that “ We NEED YOUR HELP TODAY”. People inside Burma are putting their lives on the line for values that we share.

Many Burmese society from out side of Burma all activity are working function many way with to keep this issue in the news and press the UN Security Council to take action.
Now………..China is completely undermining and paralyzing the UN -- stopping it from doing its job.
The UN is now making the same mistakes it made on Darfur and Rwanda -- doing virtually nothing while a country burns.

We have received credible news that the regime is ordering some of its soldiers to shave their hands so they can impersonate monks and incite violence, which would be used to justify a crackdown by military troops.

Now, all out side of Burmese URGENTLY should be strong financial support

Please …….please go online and make a donation today to help Mother Land to work. I believe that during this critical time , we might assist necessary Fund support as generous much as you can.

Every one must working as hard as we can, but we need your help -- please donate as much as you can today.
Also can donate directly to: http://www.uscampaignforburma.org/join/joinnow.html.

If you can't give that much, do what you can, but please do all that you can.
