Thaksin and TRT still have strong support depending on the region. This is not surprising. Does this mean the country is split ? In the UK there is a similar divide between Conservative(Tory) and Labour. But that is Democracy and would be expected. Where things differ is that Thaksin and TRT have been banned yet still command great support. In the UK the Conservatives and the Labour could contend an election and would not be banned. That is Democracy. By banning TRT & Thaksin whatever their alleged misdemeanors; it is a blow against Democracy. This is a shame because last summer the people of Bangkok came out against Thaksin and I thought at the time we were seeing Democracy and the People's voice expressing itself and the people were becoming more politically aware. They probably are more politically aware now but they haven't a real voice?
