Gert Wilders and the Fitna controversy

Geert Wilder's movie 'Fitna' has already been removed from the UK site, Livelink. It was no surprise to me whatsoever that Livelink stated they had received 'clear threats' that they must remove the movie.For those who don't know, Geert Wilders is a Dutch politician who spends his entire life under armed guard for protection from the many death threats he has received. Samak - The good, the bad and ....errr....

So this is Songkarn and what have we done?Well, if your name is Samak Sanderejev and you are Prime Minister of Thailand, you have done quite a lot. The PPP have been a busy bunch since they finally entered office in January (almost a month after they actually won the election) and to the surprise of many, they have actually done some things quite well. Forgive me for the provocative title, I didn't want to choose anything too dull :-)I was actually quite surprised to read in today's 'Nation' that teaching standards in Thailand are "satisfactory". Now that I've been in the system for a few years (although I work in a private school), I find that schools are lacking, and state schools - in my humble opinion - are in grea....

A TV show of hate

A fellow blogger has just drawn my attention to a Palestinian children's TV Show called "Pioneers of Tomorrow". I was informed that it featured cutesy characters wielding guns, extolling the values of martyrdom and issuing calls to violence and death threats against the infidels.Bearing in mind this was supposed to be a kid's TV show, I thought these details may have been exaggerated.
