Loy Kratong Festival in Sydney, Australia

The Loy Kratong festival in Sydney on 15Nov08, brought back all my wonderful memories of Thailand.

Even though i am not a Thai, I will always cherish Thai culture , the land and the inner beauty of Thai people and I will always be proud for that.

I spent most of my Loy Kratong festivals time in Sriracha ( at Koh Loy area) ,Cholbury province when I was Thailand, I remember that me and all my close Thai firends spent hanging around at the festival area until very late nite, seeing, performances, eating different tast of Thai food , playing some games, and floating Kratong at , seeing some people trying to float baloon in the festival area. There was light everewhere and smiles on every one face.. Thoese are the time that i will always remember..

In this year, Loy Kratong festival was held in Sydney. In my knowledge ,it is held every year in the western Sydney at Parramatta river. There were thai food stalls and thai culture performance in this event.

Not only Thai people residing in Sydney but Australian and multinational communities around Sydney participated the event.

Twinkling candle light and floating Kratong in the water, beautiful Thai culture and performance in my sight, smooth and gentle Thai music in the air, the spicy smell of authentic Thai food and many smiles of Thai people i met here in the festival of Sydney make me feel this place quite home again for the moement. What else can make me a more wonderful day than to spend such a wonderful evening at wonderful atmosphere.

Rich and colorful Thai culture is well respected by people around the world for its uniqueness as well as lovely Thai people .

Thailand, Thai culture and the beauty of Thai people will always be in my heart where ever i live.
