Yummy Noodle in Fang

I happened to visit Amphoe Fang in Chiang Mai. It was a good stop after about an hour driving down high slope of Doi Angkhang. A good thing of dropping by at Fang is of course, eating.

It was nearly lunch time and we were hungry looking for a good place to eat. On the way nearly out of town, we came across this small noodle shop, 'Boonchana'.

This is the 'chef' of the shop, Phi Boonchana. He greeted us with a smile while we walking in and asked us to sit and order from the table. He was quite busy and attentive in cooking the noodle.

The menu was so full of 'fish' choices, my favourite. But, if you are pork, crab, or  shrimp lover, you would have many dishes to order.

The place is clean and well organised for the scale of the shop. Fresh vegetables are provided, you can also dip noodlesticks and spoons into boiled water to make sure your "eating weapons" are hygienic enough.

The noodle soup is served with big crispy and fresh fish balls. The secret of yummy noodle must be tasty soup and I could not agree more for this portion.

I could not resist to talk to Phi Boonchana when I had finished my noodle. He said, "while preparing the noodle, I really enjoy it and I just want to concentrate on doing it with full attention. That's why I ask you to take time to sit and order from the table."

Perhaps, another big secret of Phi Boonchana is to have his lovely mother, Nuan, helping him preparing cold drinks.

Khun Yai Nuan (Grandmom Nuan) is so active at 78. She explains that she has been doing this task for a long long time and it keeps her going...everyday.

What a refreshing stop at Fang on Sunday afternoon!

And...while in Fang, how could we forget to take some oranges back home!
