67 crocodiles died in India

Conservationists had expressed their concern over the high mortality rate of gharials, an endangered freshwater crocodile species.

About a month, starting form Dec 8th, the reported dead of gharials in the north of India is 67 out of the remaining 1300.

“The species is already extinct in its former range of Pakistan, Bhutan, and Myanmar, and most likely in Banglades,” reported in WWF India’s press release.

Most of the dead gharials were younger than 6 year-old and not older than 11 year-old.

Conservationists are extremely concern with this reported motility.
