How do we get to Thailand?--by boat? |
When I was 18, I've discovered how much I love Chiang Mai and how bad I wish my family is from there--the rest of my family members to be exact. So for the first time I asked my parents; how come my grandparents didn't choose Chiang Mai as their destination to start their family. Both of my parents' answer is the same: "Because there was no boat going to Chiang Mai, so they had to settle for what came first. Sorry." I still wonder if this is true. Many of you guys may be able to answer my lifelong curiosity. My fraternal grandparents are both from China. According to my dad's historical knowledge, my grandpa and ma floated themselves with other chinese dudes to Thailand--somehow had settled in Hua Hin. My maternal grandpa and ma came from Japan. My mom doesn't know a thing about how they got to Had Yai in the first place. Some of my grandparents had passed away before I was born, others passed before I was 10 years old. So I'm now stuck with some questions left unanswered. I guess last time I made a statement with my parents I told them whenever I settle in Thailand, come see me in Chiang Mai. I'm looking for a house there in the future. Since unemployment rate is still pretty high, I figure it ain't happening any time soon. This is a pretty much nothing blog--more of a statement blog. I guess I want to write something light. |
