Sonthi VS Sondhi |
Sondhi Limthongkul led a PAD protest to oust Thaksin in March 2006 Junta chief Gen Sonthi Boonyaratglin is still optimistic about his ally Sondhi Limthongkul. The general says today his biggest ally, the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) led by media tycoon Sondhi, will not mind if he doesn’t pick Gen Saprang Kalayanamitr as his successor for the Army chief. Gen Sonthi says the Army and the PAD are friends. He warns that their enemies will be happy if the PAD causes trouble. PoliticsChitChat would like to tell Gen Sonthi with respect that “you are so naive”. If he has some minutes, PCC suggests that he should visit Sondhi’s Manager Online (www.manager.co.th). Sondhi has exploited his media to push forwards his agendas. Story after story on the website tells how much damage the country and the monarchy will face if Saprang doesn’t assume power. The severest scenario, it says, will be the return of Thaksin Shinawatra. Thus, a strongman like Saprang will not disappoint the whole nation. PCC believes, if Saprang loses this game, Sondhi will revive the PAD and then stage a new round of street demonstrations after arousing its supporters for months through the Manager media, including its newspapers, radio stations and ASTV channels. PCC won't say what will follow the move into the street. But PCC is pessimistic, really. Sondhi is a serious guy. When he raises a flag of war, he will fight till the end. Beware, Sir! |
