![]() I have always thought that the word "tetons" means women's breasts. I have just found out that the word literally means "nipple" or "treat". (Well for me a nipple is a treat and can be used interchangeably)From Wikipedia; the origin of the name came from French trappers who came down from Canada to the area near Arco, Iowa. The French trappers named many hills in that area “Grand Tétons”. But because of the poor mapping the tallest of the peak on this mountain (in Wyoming) is also called the “Grand Teton”.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Teton_National_Park ![]() River runs thru it![]() Church of Transfiguration![]() ![]() ![]() What a view behind the altar![]() ![]() William Menor set up a general store on the Grand Teton side of the snake river and started charging $1 for local folks and $2 for out of town folks for crossing the river.
