All right!!

I just went to interview for the football guru of ESPN, Mr. Paul Masefield and Mr. Steve McMahon. Both of them played in English Premier League before and especially for Mr. McMahon, who had spent his career with Liverpool.

And now let's take a look...

Why Profitable Group decided to be the sponsor for this match?

Masefield: Because Steve has the affiliation and connection with Liverpool and the fan base in Asian is amazing, particularly in Thailand and Singapore that has the strong base. Steve was surprised to see how many fans of Liverpool club in here, so he decided to make this happen, to give something back to the football fans and give them opportunity to be the part of this experience.

McMahon: Everybody wants to see World Class team. Since I’ve been in this part of the world, I actually realize for how fanatical for supporters for Liverpool. It will be wonderful opportunity for Thai and Singaporeans to see their favorite team in action. It is almost impossible for Asian supporters to go and watch Liverpool with the flight details, hotels or any tickets, so we bring them here instead and it’s working well. We already sold the ticket for 40,000 seats in Bangkok and it’s not just a ticket-sale, but its reality and everyone should grab their tickets soon.

Liverpool will be very deceptive to this trip. They are here to feel the experience and they will bring h full squad. Categorically, we won’t change the schedule and because it’s pre-season time and they’ve training twice a day, they will take it serious and it’s not party for them.

For the broadcasting, now there are numbers of events and opportunities come in. We have to make sure for it again.

Have you talked with Peter Reid about this match so far?

McMahon: I’ve spoke with him for few weeks ago. He said that it’s a great opportunity for Thai players to play against one of the world’s best team.

Is it possible for the new player to join the squad and come with the team to Asia?

McMahon: Whoever it is, they will be part of the squad and join this trip.

Masefield: It’s pre-season training so it is an opportunity to get the team together, to train together and make them understand each other, on and off the field. Everything is just get around for the preparation of the start of the League season. Steve had been played for many seasons and he always said that the pre-season is the most important thing for the football throughout whole season as if you don’t prepare well for the pre-season, you will get struggle for the rest of the season. It will be the first team squad and new players to come and play at here.

What about the player that has the potential to move out? Will they join this trip?

McMahon: If he’s still the part of Liverpool club, yes, he will.

Do you have anything to surprise Thai football fans?

McMahon: As a main sponsor, again, I will announce it soon. It is not just a football game; it’s an event so we hope to do things around the game.

We will have the training session and pre-game, also the entertainment and the transfer of football knowledge with Liverpool’s coach. We will bring our coach to teach about nutrition, fitness, coaching, medical and marketing. We will let Thai people to learn about this club.

Are you worried for the players that have been in the Confederation’s cup now?

McMahon: For professional football, they need their set amount of time that let them go to holiday. Even Spain can go to the final of the competition; they still have three weeks left before they report to the club. They will be part of the squad for sure.

Liverpool will start their pre-season in Vienna and fly to Bangkok. All the players will meet at the Vienna first.

For Steve, What does Liverpool mean to you?

McMahon: It was big part of my life and still is. I’ve got fantastic memories and I still keep contact with my old friends and the current squad. The team is so special and I’m very proud to be with them.

Who will be the first player in this season?

McMahon: I believe its Glen Johnson, and he will have the medical check today. (17th June)

Personally, how confidence for the Liverpool to be the champ for next season?

McMahon: Good question! I’m very confident for next season. Liverpool will get stronger and they need couple of new players. And Man United will be weaker after Ronaldo has gone and I’m not bothered for this transfer! It’s good for Liverpool side anyway.

What about Carlo Ancelotti? Do you think he will be success in next season?

McMahon:  He’s used to be great in Italy, and he has been successful manager. The question is, can he handle his job or not.

What about the Profitable Group and your investment with Newcastle United?

McMahon: It’s in progress. We’ve been expressed for the interest with them and we’re working out for several times. But we can’t say anything right now.

Does the Global financial crisis affected to the club?

McMahon: It’s affected to everybody. In extend, I don’t know much about it. But for Rafael Benitez, he’s the great manager that always tries to work things out and in his contract; he had put the agreement that he will have the money to spend for the player.

If you’ve got a chance, Will you come back to the Liverpool and become the manager?

McMahon: I’d love to! It would certainly be a liar if I said no to them.

Can you give comment about the Confederation’s Cup this year?

McMahon: It’s pre-world cup but unfortunately, I didn’t see much of the game. But if I’m the manager, I won’t be happy with it for how I’ve to see my players to play over their limit. They need a break.

So what will be the result for the Thai and Liverpool match?

McMahon: Liverpool for sure! But it will be very competitive game and it will be a good game. Thailand have got many talent players like Teerasil Daengda that the Liverpool defender wouldn’t known him before.

Which player is going to be the one that we’ve to watch for next season?

McMahon: I would go for Liverpool midfield like Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and Gerrard.

What should be the price for Fernando Torres?

McMahon: Ronaldo can go for 80 Million Pound, so Torres will be for 81 Million!

Do you have anything to say with Thai football fans?

McMahon: All I can say is we don’t want you guys to miss the opportunity to see the best team in the world. The ticket will be sold out very quick so don’t miss your chance.

Plus,
In fact I think that this change in MU will make it interesting for us. How they are going to solve the problems.
We are fan, so we are interested in the development of MU. We are not the investor, so we are not so interested in the P&L but only when it affect the performance.
You should continue to blog on this issue and I will here to learn and share.

Plus,
We are both Man U fan, obviusly I too would like that MU wins this coming season. However, sometimes even as fan we need to take a break and relaxed then we can last, enjoy the team.
It is not only winnings that made me a fan. The entire philosophy behind the club, their play style, the team building, the management thinking and the development of the player.
I believe I will still be a MU fan even when it is not winning.

I still hope that United will win next season. But when I asked the question to Mr.Steve about United or Chelsea, he wasn't happy with that and he wanted only the question about Liverpool! lol

It was a great experience for me to get a chance to talk with him, and I'm the only student to be in the room! (With some of my colleagues)

I know some of the website like redarmyfc.com, but it's in Thai language.

Plus,
I really really envy you now. I also think the next season will be Liverpool and Arsenal. Man U can take a rest, although I do not mind if by some miracle Man U makes it to the top again.
