Who's going to replace Ronaldo?

The case of Cristiano Ronaldo has been talk of the town for couple of days now. The ambition boy decided to move to Real Madrid with the amount of 80 million Pound and became one of the most expensive transfer in history.

If he passes the medical check, he will join the Galacticos along with Ricardo Kaka and other players like Arjen Robben, Raul, Gonzalo Higuain and Wesley Sneijder.

Florentino Perez has made his club to be ready for the clash with Barcelona next season, and the fight between Ronaldo, Kaka, Robben against Messi, Xavi and Iniesta will be .... totally amazing for the football fans.

Somehow.  because  Ronaldo has decided to left Man United, it leaves the question that who is going to replace him?

Since I've been watching him played for 6 years, it's going to be a hard job for Sir Alex Ferguson to search for the new no.7 player. His performance might be a bit down in the previous season, but he already proved that he's one of the best player in the pitch. On the other hand, Ronaldo had already won everything from the Premier league, League cup, FA cup, Champions League and even the World club championship.

Once United had lost such good players like David Beckham, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and especially Jaap Stam, the strong Defender that helped United won the trophies in 1999 to 2001. It took a time for Sir Alex to find the replacement and in this Ronaldo's case, it's going to be tough one.

The possible transfer might be at French players like Franck Ribery or Karim Benzema, or go through the Premier league and focus on the wingers like Aaron Lennon, Antonio Valencia or Damien Duff.

But the next "Number 7" will be compare to Ronaldo for sure and it won't be easy job for them...

I will put the whole thing on my next blog soon.

Anyway, he said that the Ronaldo's case is good for Liverpool, as he's the Kop. And because Ronaldo had done such good jobs for several years, Steve seems to be happy for that. - -"

For Ancelotti, he said that this man will be good enough to challenge with other managers. But Mr. Steve was happy to answer for the questions about Liverpool only. (And I'm United fan!)

For Newcastle United and the intention of the P-group to buy the team, he said that they will waiting for few more days, and now they've been negotiating with the director. Steve seems to be happy for this takeover and he looks very confident on it.

An assessment of where Ribery might end up.

Frank Ribery (midfielder, B Munich)
53 appearances, 20 goals
Real Madrid
Why: To add to galatico collection.
Chances: None at the moment. Asking price of at least E60m “astronomical”

Man U
Why: Have Ronaldo cash to burn. They need a playmaker and Alex is a big admirer of Ribery.
Chances: Slim, Ribery reportedly prefers one of the Spanish giants, given a choice.

Barcelona
Why: Keen to bolster their squad out wide with the midfielder.
Chances: Better than Real’s. Ribery reportedly their No.1 target and hence may pay B Munich’s price.

Chelsea
Why: in need of younger stars.
Chances: Slim. The Blues already had an initial bid turned down last year. Now Ancelloti is reportedly interested in Tevez.

Hi Plus. When you interview Steve Mchahon, please ask him to update the situation regarding purchase of Newcastle by Profitable Group (Singapore) in which he is a board member. Tks.

Plus,
I am green with envy, you are interviewing Steve? One of my favorites, both as player and as a commentator on ESPN. I use to hate the group at FC channel, especially the colorful clown who talks as if football is run by the mafia. haha.
Kindly ask him what he thinks is the outcome for Man U losing Ronaldo and now we hear Tevez is wanted Ancelloti.

It is only when you share that others wants to share with you. >> I love this sentence.
The squad in 2007/2008 are absolutely amazing. Everyone seems to be very hunger for the champion.

Tomorrow, I'll get a chance to interview Mr. Steve McMahon, the football pundit of ESPN. So probably, I will talk with him about this issue. :)

Well Plus,
The question should be "Can Nani score 40?". Perhaps, but if you look at Ronaldo, the 40 came when he combines well with Rooney and the rest of the team, and also given the most of the opportunities. It is only when you share that others wants to share with you.

What if Nani can score for 40 goals?? We would be totally shock by that time!! lol

Yes Taurus8, Ronaldo had such a poor performance at Rome... and now he will learn more at Madrid.

Sorry Plus,
I tried replying your msg but had problem with the Natiion site recently. Anyway my views are made known here.
I agree with Taurus8, that there is no point keeping him, if your big star heart is somewhere else then he only becomes a big disappointment. His performance at Rome is an indicator that he has already made his mind. When a star reaches his height, he goes into self-protect mode as he has become his own biggest asset.

Not first time MU has major stars leaving. Somehow, Alex Fergason always find answers to fill up the void. Big stars have left before like Rudd & Cantona. Still MU survived and remain the force every season. Anyway, as Alex said there really no point keeping someone in the team when his heart & passion is somewhere else. Ronaldo performance in Rome show his dis-interest to remain in MU.

Actually it makes good business sense to sell Ronaldo and any value player. Man U had actually struggle to retain the league title and find it hard to explain this coming season. Now the team can afford to fall back a season or two and blame it on the built up. Time for Alex to step down after this built up. Player like Machaeda do have the potential but equally can be a disappointment to come.
Man U, go ahead and take a break. I am sure most of the diehard fans can understand.

Plus,
Nani can never replace Ronaldo as he has not learn to support his team when he is on the field. The frequent use of Giggs in the last season is a good indicator. Nani do have some skill but not up to the level if Ronaldo, perhaps it can be developed.
Just imagine if Nani had scored 40 goals last season, what would be his demand? Perhaps the rest of the team have to bow to him everyday.
I say get rid of Nani before the disease of selfishness spreads like H1N1.

I agree with you Xena, for how the young gunners learn how to play next season. And Fabregas just declared that he will be with the team next season, that's good news for Wenger.

I just heard for what Nani said to the newspaper that he wants to replace Ronaldo...

Ummm...

Plus,
A leader figure like Roy Keane cannot be bought from the open market. They need time to come up to that position with the team. It is the same like gerrad and lambard.
Van persie will not last one season working with Alex. English football is now paying the price for quick results because they have the money but not the time to built from scratch. To me the next season we should see Arsenal's younster coming of age.
The sale of Ronaldo is there since last year. Anyway he is worn-out in Man U and his contribution will only go down steadily. Berbatov is a wasted talent. Tevez can only come in flashes and will not be consistent.
Nani is a disappointment as he was seen as a replacement to Giggs. But he has always display a very selfish attitude when on the field.

We have to pay for Carrick and Hargreaves to replace Roy Keane, and in this case, we might have to buy the player that have skills on dribbling, shooting and set piece taking.

Ashley Young can be the candidate this time. I would buy for Agbonlahor and Young, these two are amazing.

Damien Duff!!!!! How can I take you seriously after saying that - the guy can hardly walk.

They don't need Ronaldo and I for one would like to see the youngsters given more of a chance. I'd also get rid of Tevez and lazy Berbatov too and sit on the money for a while. I'd prefer Ashley Young to Lennon, whilst they would also have funds to tempt arsenal to sell Walcott and van Persie.
You might be right about Ribery as Alex Ferguson rates him highly.

I think first Ronaldo is not indispensable. Man U has made a great player. For those who has watch him play in his first 2 seasons know what I am talking about. Like Beckham, he may find himself in decline when he moves to Real, however we should wish the best. He has contributed to Man U.

What Man U needs and lacks nowadays is a leader figure on the field, like Roy Keane. One who can master the troop. It also make good business sense to recoup the investment in Ronaldo. Macheada will be his replacement but it will again take 2 to 3 years to polish another rough diamond.
