Entrance to ChokChai Steak House restuarant.

This is Sukhumvit 23, where ChokChai Steak House is located.

Parking available.

Umm! Milk by ChokChai Farm, selling Fresh milk. yogurt and Ice cream.

Great "cowboy" atmosphere inside.

Since this was only 3pm, there were only 2 other tables besides us.

Looking at these pork steak, I decided to make my own......

They give you points for every bht. 600 spent here.  Once you've collected a certain amount of points you will be given special prizes such as free soup....

Certain number of points entitles you to different dishes.

I was wondering about the word "Chokchai Dry Aging Steak" and when asked about it, the waiter didn't really explain much.

My daughter's cantalope juice.

I ordered ice lemon grass.....

Veal steak for about Bht. 280.-

Rib Eye Prime Steak (Size S) for about Bht. 280

Veal Burger with french fries for about Bht. 180.-

Stew Beef with rice.

My daugther loved it!

Can't finish the burger. Must take home.

Fresh milk and Yogurt to take home too.

Their museum located at Rangsit.

Atmosphere : 4/5

Cleanliness : 4/5

Service : 4/5 should be since they charge you another 10%.

Price : 4/5  Reasonable when compared to the size of steak to other restuarants.

Taste : 4/5 Good.

If I go to the Hilltop Steakhouse (which has excellent food), I would pay about 750 B for a 1 lb. Filet Mignon meal. This would include salad, a vegetable, potato or rice and rolls and would be with buying a regular drink, not an alcoholic drink. OR....I can buy a 1 lb. Filet Mignon for between 132 B and 188 B (depending if it's on sale or not) and bring it home and cook it myself, which is what I mostly prefer to do. I save the restaurants for foods I cannot cook easily, like New England Seafood platters or Prime Rib, etc.

If the point is to eat 'cow meat', then Chokchai's 280 B plate is enough.

But if the point is to eat 'Delicious cow meat', then you gotta spend more than 280 B.

I find the taste of cow meat has direct relationship with its price.

I saw "HP" sauce while I was in Thailand. I don't know, it reminds me of "Hewlett Packard". People who use sauce in the U. S. seem to prefer "A-1" sauce. I think if you are gong to use sauce, it doesn't matter if your steak is good or not. You mainly taste the sauce.

Pan, as a good friend, I hate to burst your bubble. I have had steak at Chok Chai's at two locations. I was not impressed. More like a hamburger than a steak. Too thin for one thing. I have had steak all over the world and Chok Chai's is not the best. The best so far in Thailand is the Texas Steak House, J.W. Marriot Hotel. But I have had better in other parts of the world, so far California was the best.

Hate to burst your bubble Pan as you are a good friend but I have been to two locations of Chok Chai and I was not impressed. Maybe as I have had steak from Texas to California, I have been spoiled by real steak. Chok Chai's steak reminded me of a hamburger, thin and a lot tougher. I buy mine at another market in Thailand to the thickness I want, not a pancake.

I'm sorry,Pan. I have already given up on eating beef steak in Thailand. As I stated elsewhere, I bring steak over from the U. S. but it is for Thai people. When I was there in Aug. - Sept.; I brought over beef tenderloin and filet mignon. We invited people over to the house for a steak dinner, 2 of them being high police with their wives. Me, my wife and another Thai girl ate chicken while we gave them steak. They loved it. We ate chicken becasue we can get great steak anytime here in the U. S. Because of that, we only let Thai people eat the steak we bring since it is an unusual treat for them.

I ate once in their farm restaurant in Korat. I didn´t like it much, I remember but, like you mentioned, the price is very reasonable or even very low when I think what I pay here where I live.

So this is the Chokechai that you have been telling me in FB. I like Chokechai, they are good enough and price OK.
I am so near to Soi 23 and never notice it. Rangsit is always the place for me as it was nearer my office.

I'm surprised the waiter coild not explain "Dry Aged beef" as it adds a lot to the price, personally I prefer my beef braised.
