Breakfast at Foodland Sukhumvit Soi 16

Join me for a quick breakfast? Just sent my kid off to school yesterday morning, and we decided to drop by for a quick breakfast.

Took Lae Dee (Cheap and Good in Thai), is located just at the entrance of Foodland Supermarket. This branch is located at the Column Building near the Asok Intersection; it's also called Sukhumvit Soi 16  on Rachadapisek Road.

Simple menu.

It was just 7am here.

My hubby settled for fried beef with sunny egg over rice. I tried it and I think for the price of Bht. 76, I can do better.......haaaa!

I ordered their special discount breakfast set from Bht. 62.- to Bht. 49.- only.

They gave me scrambled eggs, bacon, bread, coffee and juice.

We will be back to try others next time.

On the way in to the supermarket.

I think Siam Paragon is a lot bigger than this.

I was wondering why this packed abalone not in the fridge....I thought it should be kept cold.

Bought this cooking wine....to make my steak sauce next time!

The Bakery section.

Hmmmm
More and more, I am not sure if Pan is here to recommend a good place to eat or to torture me?
However if I wish to see any of you, I will go to Foodland with the poster " My name is Yabua Ka".

Yes, I've eaten a few times at the Soi ?? place near Nana , excellent food, except for the crummy counter seating where you get boxed in by huge foreigners. The cheese and meat there is good as well as the wine, so my friend says as I'm not a wine freak as he is.

But thanks for telling about the one at SOi 16, which they were good enough to put in proper tables. I use the BTS Sukumvit line a lot so will definitely drop in. Is it within walking distance from the station? or you have to cross the street which take ages.

Foodland Supermarket's Coffee Shop "Took Lae Dee" is one of my favorites. One of the dishes my wife an I often order is their Ox Tail Soup. Simply aroy!

Years ago when I was covering Thailand out of Hong Kong I often stay in a junior suite at the Amari Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 5, and I would walk across the soi to Foodland to eat lunch or dinner when I am alone and buy some groceries as well, since I never eat or drink anything out of the super over-priced hotel refrigerator.

Very convenient. Try their new branch at The Column on Rachadapisek Road as Pan described in this blog. It is quite a nice place to shop and have a meal or a snack on the side.

And if you or your friends need a place to stay temporarily, The Column is a well-equipped and tastefully furnished Service Apartment building with restaurants and dining facilities as well. It is very popular among Japanese and other foreign clientele.

Any Foodland outlet will have a Took Lae Dee. The one on New Petchaburi Rd just opened theirs.

Their food is truly Took and Dee too. I go to the Foodland in Sukumvit Soi 5. Their Tum Kha Gai with Kai Jiew with rice is perfect. Their breakfast special at B49 is good til 09:00 and they're open 24/7.

Pan Fried T-bone steak and salad just costs 270 Bahts.

It is "took",but I don't know whether it is "dee".

That's not an omelette is it? Isn't it scrambled egg?

I'm sure you can do better than the fried beef, too!

Foodland is normally not on my list...well maybe I should try it..Soi 16 is so near my usual lodging I think I will give it a try the next time....

Breakfast at Bht 125 is not cheap even by Sukhumvit standard.
