Smell like mom's spirit

I wrote this bit on my personal blog. Since it's a cultural thing, I think I should share it here too. Hope you don't mind the double billing. :)"Mom was in my dream last night," my older brother said over lunch with the aunties, three of my mom's best-est friends. "She was sitting at a bus stop. Goodnight, Mother

Just want to drop a quick line to let y'all know that I haven't quit the blog just yet. So hold your applause.My mother passed away in the early Bangkok Tuesday morning after a 2-year battle with metastatic lung cancer and dehabilitating stroke. She was 66.I got words of the earlier complication around lunch time on Monday in Los Angeles, 2 a.m. Bangkok time on Tuesday mroning. I found plane ticke....

Death Becomes Her

ETA: I just realized that this is posted on Thailand's Mother's Day, August 12. I guess my instinct was telling me something...Well, I'm 4 posts into the Nation Blog. I think I'll go ahead and unload my 200 lbs. gorilla here. (No...not that cute little capuchin monkey on my head.) It's going to come up eventually.My mom is in Thailand, lying in a hospital bed, dying of cancer.There. Now that's ....
