Wimbledon Tennis Adventure (3) - The Overnight Queue

I walked towards the end of the queue, drenched in the English showers, and as if possessed. It was coming towards 8PM, and in a few minutes I would know exactly where I was in the queue. This would decide whether I would get a centre court ticket for tomorrow where the likes of Tim Henman, Maria Sharapova, and Rafael Nadal would play.After battling the uphill climb on Wimbledon Park Road, I finally ....

Wimbledon Tennis Adventure (2) - Hingis and Rain

I rubbed my eyes a couple of times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, and even after my eyes had turned crimson red I still saw the same vision of Martina Hingis running back and forth on court 13. Well, here I am, again, trying to start a blog on The Nation's website. I did this once under another pseudonym, but the account was deleted along with The Nation's old format blog interface. As a young boy, I watched young Tim Henman try and lose over and over again. 14 years older, I resolved to visit Wimbledon to see poor old Tim try again. My story involves weeks of preparation, trying to work on a thesis inside a tent on the sidewalk queue of Wimbledon Park Rd, and countless hours of standing in line.
