Introducing Lombok part IV : The poke tour

Try to re-post once again.. hope the photo will be okay this time. Previously from part III click here 1 more big thing i miss about this trip is diving. No snorkling no Scuba diving yet.. and still. after missing the hike i was thinking i might go dive in Gili Island instead. Or may be just snorkle. Anyways i didn't prepare my log book and license which is not much problem as "I have no buddy" Both friend in this trip haven't do even open water yet. So we have to come with another plan. And we have only two nights left in Lombok. Then have to go back to Bali for a night for a bit shopping and catch our plane at noon. And everybody knows that noon flight is a waste of one day. After many hours discussion and some internet researchwe decided to move to Kuta-Lombok beach area to presue some wave for more surfing time. The hotel reception arrange us the van to get there plus half day tour Just for west- south side of the island. Here come some photos from the "Cha-Nngok(Poke) tour" Took us 4.30 hours for many stops. and some local's life shot from the car. Horse wagon is still one of the main transport for locals. For tourist there will be more decoration on the horse and the wagon. Small Hindu temple by the cape.. big in scenery View from the bottom View from the top Boy in the temple. Seems he dress up for some ceremony. Also lots of mosque along the way.. Lombok has more Muslim than Hindi Girls on their way home The rice field. Similar to Thailand. Wedding ceremony.. The groom's family carry the fake boat to the bride's house.. Cute idea. The new international airport. Will have direct flight from Singapore,Malaysia and may be Australia. The driver told me they hope will finish within two years. Looking forward for it. Now they have just domestic airport flights from Bali and Jarkarta only. We also drop by to see the ceramic house and weaving village. But nothing much different from Thailand. The driver seems disappointed that we didn't buy anything. But it's really over price they ask and i have no feeling to bargain again. So we keep moving on.. We've reached Kuta-Lombok area around 5pm and took us almost another hour to find new resort to stay. First one is too small. Second one is too smelly.. But when we reach the the third resort .. we finally found what we are looking for.. And that's how the little crush began. Finale blog of the trip : Part V Click here

That poor horse looks as if he's about to die from heat exhaustion. How horrible to be a horse in Thailand, no laws to protect them , neglect rampant.
