Have you ever eaten a marigold? I wonder how it feels to eat a raw flower. Seeing bright marigolds remind me of an Indian film, Monsoon Wedding in which a wedding organiser, Dubey, keeps eating marigolds. So does, Alice, his girlfriend, in the movie. They share this bizarre habit of eating marigolds. Is it really bizarre? Anyway, they look incredibly edible, don't they?
marigold Not only marigolds which I saw, but also sunflowers and yellow cotton trees. It is this time of the year until March that the yellow cotton trees (fai kham) are blooming.
yellow cotton tree
Its yellow is so vibrant and cheerful. The flowers are so particularly outstanding while on the tree without any leaves. Another Thai name of 'fai kham' is 'Supannika.' Not sure whether we can eat the yellow cotton flower. Talking about yellow, we surely cannot miss sunflower. I see it in the same afternoon and I cannot help myself adding it to this collection of 'yellow flowers.'
sunflower What a zest for life to enjoy these sunny flowers in the same afternoon. |
