Global warming, climate change, greenhouse effect, you name it, are topical at the moment. Thanks Al Gore, the 'ex-future' president of the United States, for the documentary 'an inconvenient truth', people are woken up to environmental problems. Students from Fine Arts Department from Chiang Mai university have demonstrated their art project 'live' of breaking up the ice, which is an 'ice breaking' moment for the public on the problem of melting ice cap. The big piece of ice refers to an ice cap. Each hand is destroying the ice little by little.
little by little....
no more ice cap...only small melting pieces of ice.
Who will protect the ice cap when the world climate is boiling at higher than 1o1 ˚C?
Trees are being cut to pave the way for more cars.
This 'live' art happened only for a few minutes. Perhaps, the performers deliberately want to show that the environment can be destroyed very rapidly. Unfortunately even more, I did not see many audiences came out from the convention hall to witness this show. Thanks for their concerted effort to remind us all the current problem of climate change. This show is part of an annual academic day of Chiang Mai University. This year's theme is 'Research Path to a Pleasant and Happy Society'. Many faculties from the university have taken part in the weekend exhibition which will end on Sunday, 25th November. |
