"faces" of Vientiane

Vientiane, the capital of Laos, has many things to offer. I find myself having quite a good time walking around the capital during early hours in the morning. Struggling between between 'good old days' and 'new and modern' is prevalent in many parts of the city. New Cafe, new bookshop, new restaurants are up and coming.

Looking around, I can see construction of new hotels, restaurants and new buildings. It makes me feel concerned with how things are going to be in the near future in this capital. I am wondering whether the easy going pace will evaporate too soon. One thing seems certain, the traffic is getting bad and people here start to complain about it!

Nevertheless, you can still certainly enjoy a relaxing atmosphere along the river Kong in the morning, a sheer number of temples around the city, old buildings, old cars...

...and cruel dogs!

and... Beerlao.

Keep walking forward. Don't give up. Don't fed up.

I went there last 4 months. I went to bookstore also. Doraemon in Laos’s version was quite interesting, but after I asked its price from the shopkeeper, I quitted my attempt to have it. It cost 100 baht. (Baht not Geeb) so damn high. In Thailand, it cost only 35 Baht.
