The End of the Thug-sin Era is In Sight Now!

I am using the term "Thug-sin" that may sound like Thaksin, but not intending to limit to that.  Rather, I am seeing the end of the era for those Thais politicians, army officers, and government officials who had been milking the citizen and the national trasury with their gangland and corruptive actions and groupings.  This could well be the beginning of the era of "Law and Order" in Thailand.  Yes, it would be the beginning that will take a long while to clean up those "enemies of the people." to the proportion that, according to one of Thai Kings:

"We may never get rid of all the crooks, cheats, and bad people.  However, we should do enough to allow those good, honest, and able people to work for the Nation!"

The Supreme Court's announcement of the decision to confisticate 76 billion baht of assets that is believed to be acquired illegally by Thaksin Shinnawatra may be only a small part of the total amount that he had enriched himself and his clans during his years in power.  It may not made Thaksin Shinnawatra very much poorer.  However, this decision would send out signal to the entire population that corruption and abuse of political or governmental powers would no longer be tolerated with in Thailand.  This should set in motion hundreds and perhaps thousands of other cases against other politicians, generals, and officials.

If the Thai justice and law enforcement system can start an era in which all corrupted and dishonestly obtained personal gains by politicians and officials would be confisticated and be returned to the people, then, a new kind of culture would be started in Thailand where for decades I have heard:

"ด้านได้ อายอด" (Those shameless gain and those bashfuls(the honests) deprived)

Of course, I may be a little over-optimistic.  I have lived and watched the "ด้านได้ อายอด"  culture in Thailand for too long.

If Thai courts would begin to punish the cheaters, put them in jails or firing squads, confisticated the corrupted properties, then, we might begin a new era with a new belief in Thailand:

"Better Work Better Pay!" "More Contribution to the Society, More Rewards from the Society!."

Yes, I am still holding my hand to a CD of the speech of Dr. Martin Luther King

"I have a dream!"

I do like the odd bit of Thai language I learn in these blogs. I wish someone would publish a blog on abusive Thai comments. My GF is too polite so I am handicapped.

wch:

My interpretation is that Chavalit's sexual organ might be abnormally big when he was young. That's why the adults would call him Big Jiu, in the same way the northeastern people would call the small boys, "buk hum noi" means exactly the boy with small sexual organ.

Happyjack:

Trying to dicipher language usage at one place in another place is very dangerous. For example if Thai people should call you Uncle Luck in the Tae-chiew Chinese's language, they would address you as "Bae Luck" (in Tae-chiew language also means 160), while the native speaker of Tae-chiew would custmomarily address you as "Luck Bae" (means 600) So, being called with Tae-chiew language by Thai's way, you lose 440!

Hj, glad to see you now able to dicipher my code.
in fact it was toddlers but if both go well, it should be asiatic. most of asian language have different name, the penis of children. for instance in thai, it is
'jiau' (similar sound 'jiu' means 'small'. Big Jiu, the nickname of gen chavalit has its irony literary as it means 'Big small'. He is short and plump).

Korn orders inquiry on Phuket centre

politicians had demanded kickbacks equal to 41% from the 100 million baht budgeted for the project's design work. Korn said.

If true this is outrages and some politicians should go to jail
