Fort Hood Shooting: Has America Reached a Level of "Over Streessed."

By now, I am sure most would have already heard or read about the shoot out in Fort Hood Texas which a US army psychiartist Major Hasan, shot and killed 13 persons and woulded about 30 others.  Hasan had until then been in charge of psychiartically helping reducing stresses for armed personnels returning from middle east and Afghanistan, has appeared by all indication to have caused the tragedy out of streeses on himself!

For details please click to:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091107/ap_on_re_us/us_fort_hood_shooting

What makes it more worrisome is that Hasan's shooting out was only one of the similar shoothing of the innocents in the US in the week that has just ended.  Could all these shoot outs in the US been caused by the equivalences of the "human bombs" in Iraq, Afganistan and Pakistan?  At least i the case of Hasan, the conflicts or stresses due to his religious fate, Moslen appeared to hve important roles in his decision to shoot and kill somebody, after calmly and methodologically giving away his left over food, paid out his rent gave away his rent deposit, and gave away his other personal belonging to neighbors.  He also had called on another of his neighbor at 5 a.m. in the moring of the shooting to thank his neighbor for their friendship. . . . . .

Besides being shocked by the grave tragedy that Hasan caused with his shooting. I have begun to be more concerned about the on-growing intensifying conflicts between American politicians and the moslem people and the growing stresses that most of the American must live under each day knowing that the War between American and moslen would not end soon.

Is there a point of return?  Or, would this crazy stress continue without end until the US could killed off and scare off all the moslems of the world?

@ piset, c.10:

thanks for post krab.

"when will it ever end", you ask.

a) get all troops out of afpak as fast as you can. usa tries to set-up bases for future conflict with iran, china & russia. "rapid deployment" chai mai.

it's a _WAR_. day by day people die! being humiliated, being raped, being harmed. for what?

that opium/poppy trade by now reached an all-time high? how comes? how comes we hear karzai's brother being on cia-payroll? maybe you wanna read "politics of heroin in southeast asia"?

just stop it. get nato out of afpak. there's no need to _KILL_ & _MAIM_ & _TERRORIZE_ human beings, no need to destroy social communities - just as nato says so, to fight for "whatever idiocy we offer: a big-mac + devastation"

*

b) what is "war"?

us america is close to a "failed state". it's most "productive" industry sector is - warfare.

recently, israel, called the 18 countries opposing the "goldwater report" inquiry @ un, a"moral majority": funny, it's _these_ 18 countries, "moral majority", that sell & gain from warfare around the world.

*

c) when will it ever end?

the moment... we, the people of this tiny planet earth... will stop it. stop being played out against one another. stop killing each other; for the absurd & grotesque folly of financial gains by the ones who exploit our weaknesses. stop indulging fear & rage & animosity.

stop contemporary "human mind" & its excess indulgence in so-called material/sensual pleasure. that game is _over_. let's try something new.

massein:

It is quite reasonable to ask the question that you put up, "Who attacked America?"

It doesn't matter which attack, 911, Hasan, or others, you referred to, you might have to agree thata the situation can only be resolved when a series of further problems are asked, eg. Why, What caused them, Who did what to whom, etc.

Hypothetically, maybe an American in the least likely country in the world, such as, Malaysia, might suddenly open fire in front of a moslem gathered place, killing scores of people, and testify later as revenging for his buddies in Fort Hood. Then, next, a Malaysian migh suddenly set bomb at the Christmast gathering at Time Square, New York, etc. When will this ever end? When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?

Faith certainly has nothing with it as for as America is concerned, Oil perhaps, But we did not attack a country with oil, we attack a country that gave up its sovereign to rogue outlaws. Who attack America. These ppl that have hijacked a major religion. It is up to the Muslim ppl to take it back. This man was a major in the army, a doctor at that. He drove himsel crazy, used his religion as an excuse

As I read this piece of news, I was afraid to draw any personal opinio too quickly, ask it could risk pesonal prejudices of my own.

What the picture of Hasan brought me was an impression of the severly depressed minds of so many American, white, black, christian, moslem or others.

I have not taken any statistics, however, the impression is that this kind of tragedy has been on the increase of frequency and spreading from the formerly most frequently occured places, that is, high schools or universities to other places.

It felt as if, those places changes may be interpreted as the changes of the nature of the stresses from the frustated young students to the stressful army psychiatrist and dismissed employees. The latter two might reflect quite well the recent scenarios in the US comprising of growing animosity between the US and the moslem world plus the econoic pressure facing all.

On the issue of the confrontation between the US and the moslem's world, we may have to recognize that as being true, no matter how the American politicians might deny that. In my over 7 years in the US, the only sign of conflicts between the US government and moslem might be represented by Mohammed Ali's refusal to join the army and Abdul Jabbar's refusal to play for US national basketball team. There seemed to be nothing else significant then. Could the Oil war and the subsequent desperateness of the US to secure the control of the Arab Oil resources play an important role in making successive American presidents taking the risks of antagonizing the entire moslem faiths of the world?

If suddenly, a new technology is invented and oil is no longer needed by any countries at all. Would the conflict between American and the Moslem come to an end?

Really, at the moment, I dould see not light at the end of this tunnel of conflicts between American and the moslems.

Culture diversity is what got America to the place it hold in the world today, I t could also be the hicup that is causing the problem now. For those of you who hate America , and the freedom it stands for. Just watch 50 years from now it will be stronger than ever I truly doubt the asean country's will form anything equal to the European Union , with all it so called democratic dictators

HJ our land is a nation of immigrants, all we ask is to let one another pursue happiness without undue interference from governments, or so call powerful rich individuals . We don't want to stop honest hardworking immigrants, no matter what their faith, just don't try to force your ways on others with violence or harassment. God Bless America and all Free Nations

This only confirms my growing sense of apprehenison, every time I'm in the presents of a moslem. Moslem must become aware, that they can't murder every Christian, Jew. ETC: in the world, nor can they convert everyone, although in The USA they are welcome to teach their religen, to anyone that cares to listen.
Personnel , In this case I believe this is a case of someone who took advantage of a government education system, was about to enbark on a lurktive career once his militay obligations was fullfilled. He simple drove his self nuts attemping to get out of the obligation. He would of been in little danger if deployed, and would never be on a combat mssion, His religion was only an attempt to excuse his insanity.
