Euro Cup Football, Anyone! (Picture) They Used 1840 Nude Models to Publicize Euro Cup

I thought Europe is already very high about football, especially the Euro Cup.  It was a bit of new gimmick from the game's host when they used 1840 Nude male and female models to line the stadium to give that sport championship some publicity.  Some more explicit photos can be found easily from the web.  I have not put them up here because, my blog could be censored if I do.

I agree Piset, Its ridiculous.

I could accept maybe one message the first time (if it is necessary at all) but not EVERY TIME a cigarette or alcohol appears. Sometimes my wife and I ask "where is the cigarette, can't see one. Oh yes, its in the background to the left".

The warnings actually DRAW ATTENTION to cigarettes and how often they are used.

The trouble with over reacting, is that people weary of the repeated messages and the brain block them all out. How many people in the UK even notice the gigantic anti smoking messages on cigarette packs any more - Very few the impact has been lost.

A few well timed hard hitting ads are much more effective.

In the case of Thailand, it seems in a total mess with its "fuzzy" and "warning" habits. Sometime I see nudity (not often) on Thai TV, cigarettes, alcohol, knives and guns to heads and sometimes they are fully censored out.

At the end of the day I wish the censors would make up their minds at least for consistency, instead of the crazy mixed messages.

Of course Thailand's law deciders' suffer from the same problems other do all over the World.

Do you move with the times and apply logic or do you follow the ultra conservative laws of the past as you do not wish to be seen to be soft or in agreement with certain issues.

For instance am sure the UK would have legalised prostitution in licensed Brothels long ago IF Members of Parliament had been brave enough to see the bigger picture rather than fearing how their more pious voters may react on voting day.

So often people leave well alone with the logic of "by doing so will not harm them but getting involved may"

If I am honest I think the censors here in Thailand need to grow up and change some very old laws. They need to realise, even if they live in AND VALUE prehistoric thinking and values that the people (for better or worse) have moved on and are, in the main, mature enough to handle reasonable censorship changes be they regarding violence, sex, cigarettes, alcohol or drugs.

I wish to state for the record I am NOT advocating a "free for all" or unrestricted explicit sex on TV, just a more modern enlightened respectful approach to the times and reality within Thailand and the World.

DKO:

Nude body is a part of the natural reality which does harm to nobody. Even sex between consented adults are not illegal. However, kiling is illegal, drug dealing and drug addiction are illegal, corruption are illegal, adultery is illegal. These later scenes are allowed everywhere on the films, books, TVs. But those picture of the former are banned. Why?

Today, any kid can easily gain accesses to any amount of any degree of nudity and pornography. So, why such fuzzy on VCD or TV any more?

Thought what you have printed here Piset was not permissible in Thailand, judging by what is normally permitted in VCDs, DVDs, magazines and TV.

I have never seen humans lower regions shown in Thailand and they rarely allow female top half nudity.

Anybody any idea what officially IS permissible.

Many TV films and VCDs have health warnings EVERY time cigarettes or alcohol are shown (especially Rose distributions) and nearly always nudity and guns or knives to the head are pixelated out in every film shown on TV or VCDs

Amazes me and ruins the films! The media censors seem to be in total denial of reality within Thailand and the maturity of its people.

Lalida:

Would it be for the commercial of Bud Weiser or Carlsberg Beer?

I imagine these bunch of bloggers, when undressed would look like a bunch of Beer Barrels with a small tap for beer pouring (proportionately speaking).
