Yesterday, I was browsing through a magazine rack in a book store around Sukhumvit. I picked up this new magzine called "SouthEastern Globe", never seen it before, I flipped through a few pages and saw "Full Day Unlimited ADSL or WiMAX Unlimited @ Home" ...... WiMAX, WiMAX, WiMAX, the word echo in my mind. The word sound familar. Isn't this something that Thailand was supposed have last year? How could it be that our sister country deployed this communication system before us? I wonder! Isn't it a shame that Cambodia surpass us in deploying new technology? Not because that they have newer technology, but because their political system (Corrupted or not) allows new entries into an estiblished market and create new competition. Hence, create better quality network based on new market entry. I have been hearing about issuing WiMAX License since early 2007, and yet not one operator hold a WiMAX operating license in Thailand. Having an "NTC" does not improve situation in Thailand very much. I do know of NTC issueing "Trial License" for WiMAX. As a mater of fact, NTC issued many trial license to many operators, but no actual operating license. I wondered, will Thai people see a WiMAX Network before the end of this year? I hope when the time come for NTC to issue WiMAX License, they will be impartial to the process of normally give new technology to incumbent, and issue to a new comer, so we can have new innovation in our telecommunication industry. What do you think? Kai stockroomphoto.com |
