Sometimes when I read Ian’s blogs I found expressions like “Thai people don’t know how to plan”. This is certainly not true of Thai middle class but it might have a bearing of truth on very poor people. A look at Chinese history confirms two mainstream forms of thought: Confucianism (law-making and rule-making) and Taoism (on liberating the soul).Looking at the Western world history, it confirms a similar struggle between the two.
