Victory, Valentine and VAGINA

Now in its 11th year, V-Day, a movement generating worldwide attention to the reality of—and for the fight to stop—violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, and sexual slavery, has raised over $60 millions which have been distributed to grassroots, national and international organizations and programs. In 2001, V-Day was named one of Worth Magazine's "100 Best Charities" ....

Thailands ARTISTIC CULTURE needs BETTER PROMOTION

I was in Tel Aviv last month. It was during the ceasefire, when I had an idea - not on how to solve the Gaza conflict, though. It was my second time on an "International Exposure to Israeli Dance, Music and Theatre" trip. This annual programme was co-organised by the Israeli ministries of foreign affairs and culture. Chicago is NOTE-ORIOUS!

The recent import of musicals, except for “We Will Rock You”, has been rather unsatisfactory. In my opinion, the letdown reached its apex last December with the Asian touring production of “Cinderella” that gave us very little more than Asia’s first Broadway star Lea Salonga. Last Thursday night (February 12), however, “Chicago the Musical” showed that the pendulum swung completely in the opposite di....

EYES of THE DURIAN are on ASIA

“Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay” is the official name of the national performing arts centre of Singapore, although many love to call it “The Durian”. This famous tropical fruit has it all from the beginning. Its location is prime, on Marina Bay, at the mouth of Singapore River, right across the Merlion, 10-minute walk from subway station past underground shopping mall. Its venues are purpose built ....
