Notre Dame de Paris.George Gershwin once wrote a piece of music called "An American in Paris" that aimed to capture the sights and sounds of the French capital in the 1920s. Having been in Paris for more than a couple of weeks now, I sometimes wonder what a piece called "A Siamese in Paris" would sound like. Most people probably haven't heard of it, but the area is home to the Three Pagodas Pass, on the border to Burma. Any histor....

On the occasion of Thailand getting a new prime minister (finally), I tucked into a rose apple or as the Thais call it, "Chom-poo" and was inspired to write a blog on it.Come to think of it, I've always liked rose apples they're so...red and...prominent; like blood from bleeding noses (of students and pesky protesters); or may be Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer who had a very shiny and promi....
