BLOG SICKNESS
Posted by Ian , Reader : 614 , 19:08:03

Over the last few months I have watched Thailand degenerate into ever increasing political chaos, is it a coincidence that the same madness seems to be aflicting these blogs.

Everyone seems to be fighting everyone else, I have even witnessed Narc go on the attack:-) All it needs now is for a blogger such as Pan to start a fight and I will be convinced that a form of madness has invaded these blogs.

Why has reasonable discussion fled, why have these blogs become a battleground, why do blogs appear then vanish, why do comments appear then vanish.

Why can one no longer make a comment without being assumed to be taking sides, do people no longer understand the difference between a comment and an endorsement. Is it not acceptable that I can agree in one instance with a comment from Mamasan, and elsewhere with a comment from Lalida? (That was just an example), the same applies in my dealings with many other bloggers. Why do I have to accept that a blogger is always right or always wrong, can they not be both at different times?

Are the days of sensible debate in these blogs a thing of the past or is the present situation just a temporary abberation?

I would actually like to thank all the Asian bloggers here on the Nation. As many of you know I have had problems for nearly two years with the local petty godfather in my village.
It has been a stalemate for a long time simply because I opposed him western style and he saw this as weakness and attacked me Thai style.
Since getting into many online fights with Lalida, Piset, peacefulness, expresso and others, I have not only realised that western methods are useless but more importantly discovered the Asian style.
Since this discovery I am now starting to win my local turf war:-)
So once again, my thanks to all my Asian friends

I am not aware of what exactly a faggot style of writing is, you are clearly familiar with this style, probably from intimate contact with sissy faggots.
Thank you for your information.

Also never use them against someone bigger than you unless you are confident in your unarmed combat skills;-)

These finger salutes and gestures are useful to convey messages to other drivers and when used against certain character types...have resulted in many road rage incidents...using these finger gestures carries an element of risk if you do not know the recipient.

Yuri, the Italians have many, the side nose rub, the finger under the eye, etc
Another fairly universal European one is elbow suddenly thrust into the hand of the other arm.

There are other visual insults....

Romeo and Juliet
Act 1, Scene 1

SCENE I. Verona. A public place.

Enter SAMPSON and GREGORY, of the house of Capulet, armed with swords and bucklers
SAMPSON

Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them;
which is a disgrace to them, if they bear it.

Enter ABRAHAM and BALTHASAR

ABRAHAM

Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON

I do bite my thumb, sir.

ABRAHAM

Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON

[Aside to GREGORY] Is the law of our side, if I say
ay?

GREGORY

No.

SAMPSON

No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I
bite my thumb, sir.

GREGORY

Do you quarrel, sir?

Way back in the late 70s when I was a teenager, I still vividly remember a French friend of mine giving the one finger salute. He spiced it up by first wetting the tip of his middle finger between his lips!!

I assumed it was trying to imitate the shape of a 'V'agina. Thus linking it to the offensive English word C***.

Yuri, it is a matter of economics, gesturing with two fingers and having to apply motion in the wrist takes more effort than a static one finger salute.

Macca, I know exactly what you mean, I hasten to add not from personal experience

Yuri, Agincourt is the respectable origin, how it came to get sexual overtones is another story.
The 'rabbit vibrator' might make this origin clear

How this has been usurped by the US finger, shows how much our culture has been taken over by them.

It won't be hard to pick her writing style Ian. There was an anatomical comment to her she would have found rather difficult to take....can't remember who by. I would say she has taken leave from this blog site to melow out. Speaking from experience a puuying scorned can put the family jewels at risk of becoming duck food.

Narc, I have seen numerous photos of Asians who use the wrong sign in photos. If these blogs were adult rated I could tell you the origins of the reversed V sign.
This sign is being replaced by the middle finger sign, particularly amongst drivers.
Golden Man, it seems you saw all the action, I missed some due to time zone differences.
I think this is now the third time she has been banned, just look out for a new blogger with a similar writing style:-)

Looks like the Isaan Princess has been banned for the second and final time. All of her blogs are gone with the wind.

Thw Web Editor has finally woke up and realize that he should have done this earlier. Of course she can always return under a different name if she so chooses. I can now safely strike her name off my blacklist of troublemakers.

I recently learned an English hand gesture that I have frequently used in lowbrow battles lately.
You make the peace sign, but turn your palm against your face, then you tilt your wrist back and forth.

The family have different ideas of how and where and what to do! And then here I come in and say...."guys....please try to compromise for the sake of grandma in law!" Things do get better as well as me doing more chores than ever!

Mamasan, I did not comment on Issan simply because I am aware of a strong antipathy towards Indians from most Thais, as is shown by the Thai word for Indians, So I assumed it was an irrelevant comment intended just to score points off my "buddy, buddy Lalida".
As to where she is now, well the last time she was banned January the 8th, admin posted a blog explaining why. As this has not happened I can only assume that she has deleted her blog, only her latest blog gives the message "this blog is banned", the rest simply say "cannot read file", which means it has been deleted by the writer.

By the way, I wonder what happened to your buddy buddy Lalida-San. Has she been banned completely? Why? Did she step on some Phuyai's shoes besides my small ones?

Well, it's obvious that we are not capable of having an intellegent debate without biting each others' heads off, so why not go right at it?

No pretending to be nice and all that, but just plain raw fight? Blog fight of course.

No need to wrap up your sarcasm with high level English, but just a plain 'screw you' and give 'em the fingers, you know what I mean?

That way it saves a lot of time and it's easy to follow too. And it's also fulfilling as well.

Pan can attack with an iron fist when someone attacks her first. But then she's too nice for any sane person to attack her in the first place.

Ian-

It looks like the blogs from Mamasan and Lalida have been deleted.

Thais cannot debate.
Thais cannot Think.
There is no Democracy.
There is no justice.
There is no law.
It is a banana State - I can't say Republic-yet ?
Thailand is a Mango State then.
There is no education, that is deliberate.
No need to 'Dumb-Down' in Thailand.
Thailand does not have freedom of speech.
Thailand is a Police State.
Thailand is full of low class farang with earings and tattoos.
Thailand is Third World, even though Bangkok has first class shopping Malls and Skyscrapers.
Thailand is full of prostitutes.
THIS is how the rest of the World see Thailand.
That is the reputation of Thailand.
That is why, now people are concerned about how much they spend.
They don't visit anymore.
Thailand will soon be like Burma?

Don't think about how much something costs.

Think about what you like and where you like to be?

While I believe I would feel better if this was just a "Thailand Thing" (I will now be called all kinds of unpleasant names by the great unwashed) I do believe that is is worldwide. I have not been out of Thailand in over a year, but what I hear and read suggests that civil debates with respect to the opponent is dead.
