The Last Circus

I'm watching the news today and hear that they might bury MJ next Tuesday.  Next Tuesday!  Christ almighty, the guy died on the morning of June 25th!  I can't recall anyone else purposely stuck above ground this long after dying.  Is it because of all the hype it is generating?  His death has been covered longer than the combined surrenders of Germany and Japan in WW2.  Longer than the deaths of the Pope or Ronald Reagan! Longer than the fall of the Berlin Wall or the Soviet Union!  In the meantime, No. Korea is launching more missiles, the Iranians are getting more hardcore about their nuclear program but no one knows because all the news talks about is  MJ.   Is this like an ad campaign to generate more interest in his last practice (probably availaable soon on DVD) and the "lost" recordings they are talking about?  I think it is time he is laid to rest - ASAP -!!!!!

Today they are burying Michael Jackson. Although I complained about what I considered excessive coveage, I do hope he rests in peace. He was a troubled individual. My gut feeling is that the press coverage will not stop. There are the issues on who gets the kids, the money coming into the estate, etc. His life was a mess and so isn't his death. I hope at least that the press coverage reduces to a moe realistic (and tolerable) level and everyone can finally get on with their lives. I hope the media circus is over!

Alien, 20. A house fire is very traumatic, not financially, I came out better after the insurance, but emotionally. It is like having your hard drive trashed on the computer, it wiped out 30 years of my past, photos, music, books, documents and souveniers.

Although this doen't purport to show that MJ was more widely respected then Freddie; the hype will never die.

MJ fan base covers the whole world and his death and tragic life makes for good media. The Staples Center that can hold upwards of 60,000 people will be packed with celebrities and over a thousand fans who got 'tickets' through the internet.

i wonder if his chimp and lions and tigers will attend to; then it would live up to Ali's 'circus'.

BTW, Ali I just read that when King's crew went to neverland they encountered MJ's ghost!

I just saw a portion of a press conference with MJ. I think it may have been one not released yet but I'm not sure. He denied bleaching his skin white and said he was like Jesus in surrounding himself with young people. He seemed to skip over the fact that it wasn't young people that he surrounded himself with but young BOYS!

Don't feel too bad. I once knew a guy who had a very extensive collecton of baseball cards. Old Mickey Mantles, Ted Williams, and stars from before then, maybe even into the 30's. Same thing, lost it all in a fire. I'll bet it was worth 10's of thousands of dollars then, well over 100,000 now.

Alien, they are still finding "lost recordings" of the Beatles, and most of them aren't even dead yet.
I used to have the original master of "green Onions" (Booker T) but lost it with many others in a house fire 20 years ago.

As long as that professional opion is not from TV. They're still not done covering Michael yet!

Sara Palin (McCain's Vice President pick in the last election) has announced she is stepping down as governor of Alaska. She is definitely the hottest person to run for a national office, but then again, we don't have strippers and such running like they do in Italy. Oh, except for California, where a porn star tried to run for governor. Anyway, she has managed to yank a little attention away from MJ. I'm worried that even when MJ is finally buried, we're still going to have updates on how the grave is doing, how fast the grass is growing over it, how much shade does it get every day, etc., etc.

One of my teachers told us that we don't decay quite as quickly as in theold days due to all of the preservatives in our foods. It permeates our tissues and keeps them from rotting for a little while longer!

Last night they had a story on CNN about the birth of the Panda cub at Chiang Mai Zoo. Kind of late, don't you think? I guess they had to fit it in with the 24/7 coverage of MJ. Who knows what iran is doing! I haven't heard about them in a couple of weeks. They did mention that No. Korea "tested" 7 missiles yesterday (for about 7 seconds). Can't disregard the the MJ news (over and over with same facts and speculation). I guess here in the U. S. we'll get other, more breaking news as time allows.

Knowing what is involved in embalming a body I would hate that for mine. I prefer the worms to do their job.

The death does not speak.

" leave my body decay" Lord Buddha.

Hochimin earns more than he did in this life.

Earning beside the dead is same east and west.

Death mission will be in Moscow when Pres Obama arrives there.

Ian, Lenin is up there. Would we call the glass case they stuck him in as buried? I think they have MJ held up by wires so people can pay to pose with him. Maybe I should delete this. I am afraid they didn't think of the Lenin plan yet and I'll be kicking myself for bringing it up!

Alien, if I am in that business, I will try to make the event as big as memorable I could to profit from it. He still is, now dead, a big ticket to prosperity for some.

Alien, it´s not that bad in Germany. I don´t know about Thailand. I saw news about MJ in some Thai newspapers´websites but they are not big anymore.
Maybe because the German are, in general, serious people and the Thai have enough soap operas to enjoy.

I do understand that the media is a business. But I can't be the only person getting sick of all the Jacko coverage. The first couple of days were OK but now it is too much. I wonder if you people in Germany and Thailand are not suffering through this never ending coverage as much as we poor Americans are?

No matter how the media people pride about themselves, media is business and often it is a very ruthless one.
The celebs are sometimes bestsellers after their death. I felt more pitiful for them after they had already passed away than when they were still alive.
