Pua Paendin's pullout could trigger Samak govt's collapse

It was only a matter of time before Pua Paendin Party under Suvist Khunkitti would cut ties with Samak Sundaravej. But when it did come today, there was some element of surprise at the timing.

PM Samak was to submit his list of the new Cabinet to His Majesty the King tomorrow. That means that the negotiations over the allocation of new Cabinet posts had caused a major split between Samak and some of the smaller parties in the coalition government.

Officially, Suvit said in his official announcement that his party had decided to pull out because of disagreement over the PPP's move to amend the constitutiotn ("The economic issues are more urgent that changing the clauses in the constitution") and the Khao Phra Viharn conflict with Cambodia. Obviously, the fact that a new foreign minister, Tej Bunnag, had been named to replace Noppadon Pattana didn't help matters.

The next political bomb will come from Banharn Silpa-archa's Chat Thai Party which has also been loggerheads with Samak on a number of issues although the party has tried to play down the conflict.

With Pua Paendin's abrupt withdrawal at such a crucial time -- while several court verdicts on the fate of several key Cabinet members hanging in the air --- the countdown for Samak's government has begun. The real break-up could happen in the next few days!

When reading the journals in Thailand, I have a habit to check first, What the media company is, and who the writer (ethno) is. Of course I have no personal information about them, but only to check their FAMILY names.
This habit initially assures me of placing a margin of justice or of a bias before accepting the information.

For instance, I have personal affection on Suttichai Yoon. I met him when I first came to Thailand on the foreign journalist club press conference. That time, it was given usually at Hotel Dusit Thani and often was given the lunch at May Flower chinese restaurant in ground floor. He was in our table and exchanged some informal chat. He was usually frank and critical to Thai politics and so very much informative to foreign reporters.

Checking family name, the habit is also used when I choose a book, such as of history or biography.
History book, I don't choose the adopted names from the aristocrat family as I found all of them are more or less same. Also the reason I avoid to read them is, that there is hidden agenda about their show-up in media with certain popular issue. They want a job.

Nor the works by the descendants of Hakka or other southerner migrants, that are very much anti-Thailand without a grain of evidences.

A journalist can not avoid certain degree of compassion on the people or on the issue and it is difficult to hide the inclination. People tend toward the righteousness that they believe. Journalist is not different. They can be against PAD in their direction of views.

Finaly the prosecutors seems to have decided to defend the lottery case, even though "they don't want to do so". Frankly, I don't understand the logic. Is this possible because the trial will judge the administrative act? The Phor Phor Chor prosecute them as an capacity of the protector of Public Interests and the prosecutors office defend the accused as what? What is the reasoning of Cabinet decision to order the prosecutors to defend them? The three cabinet member said they don't have to resign because the allegeged wrong-doing was done in the former government, then why should this government intervene the case? Finally what' s happenning in this country. I am lacking in common sense or they are?

I will write something outside the topic, since I think this became obsolete after most of MPs from PD decided to stay in the coalition.

Tulsathit Taptim's column yesterday on the political violence is a typical hypocrisy of mains stream journalism. He/she warned both sides when it's time to take sides in this particular issue. All the political movement was created and supported by the people who think what's they are doing is a justice. And the leader’s intentions are always not pure. (This is not miswriting of not always pure) The blind support of some supporters of PAD to their leaders could irritate or even make feel threaten some liberal intellectuals. I share the feeling even though I am not one of them.

But yet I think it is the right thing to support BLINDLY them in this particular case. If somebody forces me to choose one thing I cannot accept in a democratic society, it’s the political violence supported by the government power. The political heat could always result in a skirmish between political rivalries but it would never be escalated to the point that we saw in Udontani, if it was not supported by state power. I don’t know what kind of restrains the author is demanding the PAD, (because he/she doesn’t write clearly, being busy to prude of his/her witty rethorics, as always do the columnists) but scolding the victims of such a violence by the reason that they also could be offenders in the future does not make sense and sounds to me an actual supports to the true offenders in the case.

He seems not to be a real party head. Whattna's escape could be another reason for his decision.

He was only the one who could translate the right meaning of two English words,
Map (penti) and Layout (penpang) into Thai vocables.

Noppadon trickly wrote 'Map' instead of 'Layout' that shows the castle ruins and the castle ground.
This MAP showed the 'Overlapping land of 4.8 km2' and Noppadorn said in the parliament censure debate, '4.8km2 overlap land is subject to mutual negotiation within two years !'.
In this principal agreement of Thailand, Cambodia got the heritage licence.

Suvit can not accept this. He can not be a part of the betrayals. He is more than one of Thais.
