That's invisible HANDS - plural. And I mean many. The idea with the black hand is an old one - simplify for the simple minded.

It was a busy day again - and hot and humid.

I have been very busy in the last months - a lot with business but also a lot with other projects trying to move what little I can to keep my environment from stand still. It's like moving a 3 ton rock with a tea spoon. But having said that some of it had been rewarding - not in political dimensions but by the success on the human resources level.

Being nailed down by work I thought I reduce any public activities to a minimum - well it ain't easy and it's probably not going to work. People tend to drag me into political maneuvers at their liking. I have a dislike for that so I had to make my point on some occasions. There are still quite some destructive and counterproductive forces at work.

Since I am not a politician I don't much enjoy letting politics take over all productive and constructive energy of my day. There is just too much to do. But in doing the later one realizes that in doing just that - constructive things, innovative things, progressive things there is little tangible support and you are often without any support and, thus, fighting to make ends meet every month. Surely, people say: keep on doing this, don't give up, it's good what you do but we're just not yet there where we can support you etc. It's like being asked to build the Hoover dam with a mortgage on your grandma's house.

Since the tasks are this huge and the course very challenging one may ask how the people in charge imagine tackling the issues with what little means are really made available to solve the problems that are a real priority.

Somebody wrote a nice one on the Blue Diamond story today - I liked that. He got to the one and crucial conclusion: namely that not a single government in the past decade tried to even touch the issue. Why? Because it involves very well known faces in politics from all the major different factions. We know that the Diamond story is a fabricated and unsolved piece of our past. So is the New Year Bombings and the coup. So now comes the invisible hand? Give me a break here. What's so invisible about that?

The question here is: are we all ready for the truth in this country? And if you get it are we all ready to face the consequences? Are we all ready to fight for the truth? Will we take steps to bring criminals to justice? Will we protect the people who risk their lives for exposing this truth or will we let them die as martyrs of an underground novel? Will we have the courage to accept this different and unpleasant past to create a better, brighter future or will we prefer a fabricated, touched-up version to continue our lives in this hyper-real matrix?

I think if there is such thing as an invisible hand, then it must Houdini's. What Samak could be referring is a Puppet Master's hand at play. Thai politics have dozens of those puppet master's hand serving a single individual behind the curtain where the public will never see. As long as politics remain a show for the world and its citizen, thailand sure have the longest running puppet show on earth. Lets speculate for once that those puppet master hand belong to someone who is feared rather than respected, how many are there in thailand. 1 or 2? Then we next speculate those command respect and feared same time by others, how many are there? 1 or 2? We will never know because a true puppet master will never reveal himself or herself until they die. But I think we can look forward for more turbulant times ahead, the storms are just gathering speed.

Invisible hand eh? Sounds like a super hero.

But seriously, I have to say I first thought a coup was once again a real possibilty when someone said something about horses and riders and not being the serving the government

After rereading my comment I just deleted half of it.

Anyway, I didn't like Mr T, but he managed to lead Thailand through it's first full term. Pity about what happened in the 2nd term. Greed and ambition, power. Maybe on both sides.

And who wants thai version of Lee Kwan yu ruling for 20 years. (maybe 60% of the population)

All I can say is it's not over yet.

The picture in Comment 8 refers to clowns.
This one refers to a hand that crept across a bookcase !

On a lighter note, this film gives a very good insight as to what the ‘Invisible Hand’ actually is:-

Back to the serious issue of the clowns and old ladies supping tea and trying to run the economy.
On fielding a question about the equity of the VAT on the poor, Lt Ranongrak offered an answer that left the ministry press corps stunned.
''I think the VAT is quite fair. It's just the tourists who pay, don't they? Other people don't have any problem,'' she said in all seriousness.
The reality is quite the opposite, of course, as tourists can claim refunds from the 7% VAT upon leaving the country.
Still, Lt Ranongrak expressed confidence that she can accomplish her responsibilities as one of the country's top economic policymakers.
''I am trying to learn about everything that is under my responsibility. As soon as I learned about my appointment, I did a search on the internet to see what the Finance Ministry actually does,'' she said.

Invisible hand ? More like invisible qualifications ! Looking on the Internet, “to see what the Finance Ministry actually does.”
Are these jobs handed out in a lottery ?
Looking on the Internet for information is dodgy at best. Perhaps she should ask Tan Shwe what he thinks? The answer is bound to be, ”I’m not worried, my money is in Switzerland!”

Ian: Who said everyone knows who's behind the coup?

Pa+ Yoon said he doesn't know.
I've never said I know.

In fact I think I will make t-shirts with the winking eye and that says "No one knows who is behind the coup in Bangkok". And I'll sell it in JJ, I should make a lot of money.

If the hand work in Thailand, I believe two hands are.
One is PPP's 12 million voters, and
Another is Demo's 12 million voters.

The rats try to ride on eclipse of two shadows, to survive.

hum mala hum…Pa+ Yoon: Are you saying the puppets walk by themselves? I say if you follow the strings and you’ll see who’s pulling the strings.

Max was gonna write revelation 97 and the New Testament. But I thought, he was probably either very busy doing important work for the country or awaiting the return of Jesus of Nazareth. One way or the other, we'd see the truth before 2012. Coz, Yuri was saying something about the Mayan’s calendar ended there.
