As I understnad it, there is a VERY large percentage of shareholders in the SET who are members of the old TRT. Wonder how much they have played in the current Baht/$ situation. Come on, this is Way Too Simple to understand...and you don't even need to be a market player. Who Stands To Gain from this???

I assume that the government or junta has done what it could. By trying to arrest people who criticize dictators they have incited rage and thus violence,. Violence almost always means that a National currency will fall.

I don't think a pegged currency is the answer. We've seen the BOT toy with this before, with Pridiyathorn "damage will be temporary" Devakula decided to introduce capital controls. I like the idea they propagated today, cut interest rates and free up some of my salary :-)

Increase euro baht in one way or another without interest rate intervention. That’s all we have to do.
