The dog I never have!!

o_________o When I was young, my father used to raise some of animals such as rabbits, squirrels, fishes and even a monkey. But we never raised a dog or in other hand, there was no dog we can call ours. Because of my mom allergy, we can’t raise a dog in house. Only one dog my family ever took care was my grand mom’s old Thai dog. Once she had to leave her house a few days and couldn’t bring him along. So she asked my family to take care him. And since then we have to take him until his death because my grand mom moved to live with us after that. When the dog came to live with me, I was very young, and the dogs was very old and died shortly after that, so I didn’t feel I have a dog that moment of life. . . ^__________^ And time passed, I was growing up, needed to move to live with another grand mom cuz it’s near my high school. And unfortunately, this grand mom seriously hate dog. I never asked her why. So during my high school I couldn’t even think of having a dog. After that I entered university and moved to dorm. I and my roommate loved pets. But pets were prohibited in every dormitory in university. It’s regular. So I never tried or thought about having a dog during university time. ^_______^ And time travelled, now I graduated and have moved to Bangkok where jobs are available. It seems I have a chance to have my own dog now. But the chance never come because I don’t have a house in Bangkok, I have to find an apartment to live in. when you read until this part I think you know what I am gonna say next. ___________ Most apartments don’t allow residents have pets in room. And even though pets allowed, I can’t raise a dog in a narrow space. There is no yard for him to run and play. U__________U* Which dog I wanna have? Taking a look at some pictures I posted above, you know that it’s Bulldog, a little one like this. The dog in the picture was named “Said Dhee [Richie]” she is my friend dog. I always play with her when I go to visit my friend at Loei province, my home town. Indeed, Said Dhee delivered some cute babies last year. My friend offered one of them to me cuz besides Said Dhee, she has so many. So I have no problem to find the dog I like. . . . O______o Now the problem is me; the way I live. T_______T Raising a dog is not easy. My friend even said it’s you have a daughter need care as well as human. Since long time ago, I have promised myself that one day I will raise a female dog and take care her as best as I can. . . . . . . Do you have a dog? Any experiences about dog you wanna share? we had a "cocker-spaniel" when i grew up. it did not make a difference though. it was more of a burden than happiness. i had to take care of it. like feed it, take it out, clean after it, wash it. bottom line up front (BLUF) is that i started to hate having a dog. But for you , who never had one, you should get one so you can go through what i went through as a kid. My son wants a dog, but i will probably give him a gerbil or a hamster. I figure if he can take care of it (and does not let it die) then i will get him a dog. (heh,heh,heh)

" Boy Shih Tsu's tend to like Ladies and Girl's tend to like Men" hahahaha....it's true. the Shih Tsu of my cousin is lady named "Som=orange" but evenone called her "Somzaa= Naughty Orange" cuz she never stay still. haha..

by the way, i thought like your idea keeping a dog in my room too. but the problem is that i have to go walking with her. and it's certainly that the secret will be broken!!! the apartment owner will know it exactly...^^

You could keep a small dog like the Shih Tzu or Small Bull Dog types in an apartment.
There are some small dog breeds like these that are happy being with people in the home.
But you do need to take them out for walks and to the park to play and exercise.
I never thought I would love a small dog so much, but my Girl Shih Tzu (named Minny) loves me so much and is literally my shadow at home.
She loves to go for car rides and always wants to play. Not much of a lap and hold dog, she is kind of her own boss.
Boy Shih Tsu's tend to like Ladies and Girl's tend to like Men.

Peace_out…yaahhhh… Shih Tzu is queen of adorability and among those popular nowadays. The long lovely hair makes them look gorgeous, no matter what that one is male or female. I once took care of my cousin’s Shih Tzu. She was very enthusiastic. But she needed care so much really.^^ if I didn’t clean her well, she seemed less happy.

HS, I have heard that pigs are prohibited for Muslims, but never known that dog is included. Why? Can you tell me the reason?

atch22 ….hahahaha…I think I will love your King Charles Cavalier. Friendly dog is better and fierce one. And I might die because of him because I am terribly sensitive of being tickled.

GG, did you dog read the Nation newspaper in the morning? Very high educated dog. ^^ but he looked very old in the picture you left. T_______T

Iceberg….though I don’t have a dog. I totally agree that dog is very good friend. seems you have nice attitude about dog, why don’t you one? Is the reason similar to mine?

A Shih Tzu (Chinese Lion Dog) is a great companion and loving, playful, friendly dog.
The small "toy version is not a good choice.
Find one that will grow to be 4 to 6 Kilo's.
But they do require a lot of love, attention, and daily grooming.

The dog I love most is the King Charles Cavalier. They are intelligent, loving, faithful and so very child friendly. The only trouble is if a stranger comes to the house they will 'lick them to death'....they just love everyone.
