The nonessentail reason makes a young working for the company

Well, I believe I said here more than one time that I will quit my job… but I’ve realized im stil working at the same company.

Before, I’ve tried to quit three times but finally fail every time.

Recently, I was wondering why I can’t make exact decision.

What is the reasons im still with them?

Money? Bonus?

Nahhh….it’s one of the reasons I wanna quit

Promotion?

Nahhh…I can’t expect any promotion in this young age. Im still need much more experience.

Commute Distance?

Nahh…the cost of monthly BTS fee is not cheap.

Since the Friday, my manager has been on vacation.  Just think about that, it makes me bored. Everyday, we talk and play like friend. She never command me like dictator, neither bossy. Mostly, if I have a problem at work, I talk to her to get suggestion.  Sometimes she talk about her daughter same age to me. I am like her consultant. Sometimes I talk to her about my parents. She is a bit older than them.

She is boss, but like a friend I can talk everything.

Now when the manager’s gone somewhere else, I realized how much tight relationship I have with her. I feel like, something has gone from my daily life.

Besides, my supervisor, my senior, my colleges, they never think negative to me when I clarified I was going to quit.  Almost everyday working, the senior asks us, [staffs] what we would like to eat in order to find the food for our lunch. The outside is so dam hot. And the canteen food is boring. We prefer that someone go to buy lunch for us.  We never force her, but she was pleased to do it. She has do like this for almost two years.

And every month when I want to go a trip or to visit friends or family, I can ask my supervisor who is in charge of the whole schedule arrangement for a leave. For example, when I went Chiangkhan, I could have 4 days off easily. This means I can ask for vacation anytime.

Now I am wondering….when I can leave this company really. The salary is not as good as I expected. ….  But the relationship with those people is pulling me in….

Don’t be kind to me please…I am shouting in my mind to them….it seems they never hear it.

.

.

I think the reason  is nonesense.

BTW.....happy weekend everyone ^^

I think, then, you probably work for Charoen Popand.

At CP, only executives at the high levels get good pay.

You should get your resume prepared and send them out to different places asap. Best of luck.

Exp..T^T thank you so much.

“Every minute that passes, at your age, is a minute lost for your future.”

What you said is true. You know it made me love you! LoL…

Though it will make my manager sad, I will have to change job in the near future.

January 2010 will be the first month I begin new job hunting!

BTW, it’s been awhile im thinking why Thai companies not pay its employee well. Their profit is low? Nah…my company earned THB 9,431 millions last year. They pay tax much more than those expat owned companies? It’s still unbreakable question for me. anybody knows this?

Oh, Pasa, I forgot to mention that my friend's son graduated from a Thai university. His English was not very good and still not very good now. But he did finish the whole English course at AUA. You may consider doing that.

Pasa, you must ask yourself if there's anything you can still learn from your place of work. Yes, it's nice to have good pals to share fun with at work. But after seeing what you could possibly earn in 5, 10 or more years, it's depressing. You need to consider reality at your age. You are not like someone in his/her 50's that prefer a friendly and secure environment. Don't procrastinate. Every minute that passes, at your age, is a minute lost for your future.

My suggestion to you is to apply jobs at different places. Perhaps some foreign-owned firms would be good as they pay much higher. My friend's son about 6 years ago worked for a Thai firm at about B13,000 a month. He's an engineer. He switched job and worked for an American company in the automobile area. He got his salaries revised several times. About 2 years ago his salary was around B60,000. He saw that the industry was going bad. He switched job, an insurance company which insures car engines. This insurance is British-owned with a long history in Thailand. He travels a lot. His total remuneration is over 100k a month. For a young guy of around 30, 100k+ a month in Thailand is not bad. I think his company is QBE. He used to come practice his colloquial English with me. And I knew his American bosses then.

So, Pasa, go out and apply. Give your resume to headhunters and tell them you prefer working at foreign companies. After all, Pasa, you don't have to take any job that they may offer you. But you must start immediately.

Re happyjack..^^

That’s for a long time; English language has been bloomed in Thailand. I remembered that once in my fourth year study of the university I did research on the defect of bilingual school I Thailand. Why? English has become a vital part of business world, even in a small company established a few years ago. Anyhow, it’s absurd to put all reliance to standardize English staff. Many important factors boost an employee excellent perform.

Usmale, my manager never buys me even a slice of pizza. She always says she has two daughters who need to go master degree soon when we ask for a pay for lunch…^^ but when she has a meeting, she just brought some cakes or gave me “on the spot reward” paper which I can change it into swensen cash coupon or movie ticket at the employee relationship center. Or when someone gave her candy pack, fruits, and etc, and she didn’t want it, she just gave it to her staffs. You know, she never spend any cent for us.. So …hmm…inconculde, you’re far better boss
^^ haha by the way, I don’t expect that much salary like yours. Here in Thailand, only 1/10 of yours is enough for me. (Oop! It’s 40,000 THB..hmm hardly possible ….lol)

Nong Pasa, seems like you have a very good job, because in my line of work my bosses NEVER are nice like yours. I wish I was you, because my bosses do not care about me. But my pay is about 400,000 baht a month, though. I would still wish to be you, because your boss seems very nice. I do the same with my workers. I always buy pizzas and take them out to dinner whenever we have to pull "allnighters" or just get back from the field. You are very lucky to have a good boss. I envy you.

Its a strange and generous thing to do,employ someone with no English.Shows idleness from day one.Thais have been warned for years,a chance of promotion depends on your English.

Having a job is wonderful.
Having a nice co-workers is a blessing.
Having money to spend because you have a job is heaven.

I scared about the future. Recently, I’ve known a truth that my supervisor who has been working here for 20 years. Her salary is 18,000+ THB. It’s quite low. Why? Becuz she can’t speak English..so no allowance. One of my dear college get 16,000+ THB, he has been working for 5 years. Think of my future, im sick. The work is nothing over my ability. It’s like yabua said, I have been trying to balance between the career ambition and happiness at work place for times. Just the good friends can maintain me at work.

Like HA_HA said, Japanese company gain loyalty from employee, I think, more than Thai. They treat their staff well. Everyone knows it. In contrast, Thai company, they need high qualified staff but aim to pay less. Thai company need fine job, high profit, and when they get it, they just wanna pay as less as possible for their employee. I never work in Japanese company. So I can’t compare the atmosphere and relationship between colleges at work place to Thai company.

BTW, i am not very sickly of this. i have sometime more. next year i may find the next company^^

Noo Ninja,
When my late father´s age reached 55, his kind boss offered to move him to another base of his organization which was much nearer to our Bangkok house, so that he didn´t need to travel a few hours every day any more. My father rejected the kind offer. The reason was his younger colleagues, through years of working together, had already turned to his best friends.
I understand why it is difficult for you to leave your firm and you may even regret that you leave it if you get bad working atmosphere in the new firm. It is, due to my experience, really terrible to have a bad boss and colleagues.
But, well, you never know what will come?
I think you must know what gets the first priority for you?
Or it is possible for you to balance between the career ambition and your mental happiness?

Mr. wch's suggestion reflects the old Japanese value. I heard Japanese workers are very loyal and devote to their company. They work for life and their company treat them very well too. I really admire that.

For me being passionate with what you're doing is very important. It will keep you alive and able to see every things as a challenge to overcome. This is very important in the long run. Without passion you will be bored and working... like the Thai saying - chao chaam, yen chaam ... you know what i mean?

You're very lucky to be working with nice people. May be you have to think why are you bored and want to leave.

Anyway, you're just 24, right? Still have time to think. You will know when the time comes. Good luck.

If company business and earning is okay, try to be a faithful employee. If you feel your work load is not enough, try to find extra work in the company.
always volunteer for a new work.
You must earn your own importance in an organization. No one gives it to you.
