Hello, I am a newly

“Time really flies fast” I said it last three months after graduation. And now I still believe it. This month is July. Absolutely, everyone knows it and it is just a simple time of year. But for me, it’d be wonderful period of life.

“This month is the final month for on the job training period, and I’d like say ‘you passed all tests since last month.  You’re perfectly our team now,” the senior manager said to me and smiled.

“How come! I should get it since last two months,” I kidded her and she laughed.

That is the great aspect of hers, my boss, not all time austere. She never tells me to shut up when I ask for a reason to do or not to do something during the work.  Sometimes, though our opinions of a thing are different, she always allows me to say what in my head, and then determine it together.  Sometimes she says “Ah, its wrong. You’re right”

When I do something wrong, she never bawl me out. Indeed, she never asks any staffs go to her room or angrily yells at them when they do a big mistake. Instead, she does go down from her room, as her regular schedule, counter round, and quietly asks the bumbling staff going somewhere and talking about it. So that except the friends of that employee, if people don’t notice, they will never know that he/ she have done a big trouble and they are discussing on it.

I am not saying that she is remiss administrative.  Every procedure of our customer service is intensive. She daily gives a strictly going over for all best for customer, our work goal.

Anyhow, I don’t like this job much.

“You know, previously, I mean to say good bye instantly after I passed job training,” I simply said to her.  Surely she questioned me why!

“I’ll answer it if you’ll allow me to quit this job then,” I beamed and replied.

“Alright, shut up,” she snapped and we loudly laughed together.

And you, what kind of boss you are? Or if you were a boss, how would you like to be?

Pasa, I am quite proud of your ability to read between the lines even though your English is not quite good as mine. Your post in my blog reflects that. You don't mind me saying so, do you? I hope so anyway.

Pasa, working in a big corporation needs constant maneuvering to make advancement. I am not good in kissing butt. My direct boss, a British Ph.D with an engineer background often boasted and exaggerated my works done for the corporation saying how many millions that I(means him). While it was fine to boast one's achievement, but not at the tune of lying.

Beside, I was at a pretty high position then. I figured I could only advance 2 more ladders up if I worked there till eternity. After all, I am an Asian and not so good in talking with hypocrisy.

Pasa, working in a big corporation involves a lot of corporate politics. I used to work in the HQ of a large corporation which had 8,000 workers in the compound. It can get bored unless you like playing corporate politics and kissing butt. I quit after 6 years.

Joke? hahahahaha...sorry I didn't understnd it at first

anyway, I agre with you again. nowadays, works are less than people. Compay has no need to extreamly care its employee. it's hard time for new generation. PJK, it's time to take a rest for you. I saw your trips in your blog. it took much time to reach that peak.

Well it wasn't really enough to buy the entire car. It was just a joke. Anyway the bonus was generous back then. Now a day companies are cheap and take no regard in employees. It all comes down to the demand and supply of the job market. No one wants tp pay more than the industry’s average. If there are more jobs than the number of people to fill then you have more bargaining power and can demand good paychecks. With the bad economic perception the companies do not have to pay well and people will just stick around. Now a day I fell more like a deadwood with an extremely boring job.

PJK, wow, a bonus big enough to buy a car!!! Your company is such a dream one for some people,(me too) anyway, I agree with you. The company training a new graduate is like a college. They provided practical tests, real works. No second chance for mistake but required the trainee to deal with the problem and survival. It’s like a real war filed!!!hehehehe (O0O)

Expresso….hahahaha…..it’s too fast for me. And marriage is like a mysterious thing for me.

Still remember when I fist got hired I was put in the corporate training center for another three months; before I was put on the floor to work. I was working for the fortune#1 company at the time. Back then the company had a free cash flow problem big time, if you know what I mean. The company was making so much money. On my second assignment with the company, I was working for the comptroller and we were moving nearly 3/4 billion dollars (cash revenue) per day back then. The company’s training center was run like a college. Training budget was never a problem. They even sent me back to college for another graduate degree. On my third assignment I was with the CFO, we were writing a financial platform with a budget near the United States’ budget to explore Mars. The bonus was so handsome back then, there was a joke that the bonus was for us to get a new car every year. Oh the good old days when we monopolize the entire market.

Ninja: Congratulation on passing the probation! Not suprised though.

Any boss would be lucky to have a cheerful girl like you in their team.

But it's not smart to tell her that you wanted to quit...

There are certain things you never tell your boss. And there are certain things boss should never tell their look nong...

A look nong should never say, 'I want to quit.' (but he/she can say 'I quit.')

And a boss should never say, 'I will fire you.' (but a boss can say 'You're fired.')

It's for mutual respect between the two.

Anyway, your boss sounds like a good example. May be I want to be like her.
