Let’s get it FUN, but WHERE to go for Songkran festival?

Hey……., you guys, fun festival is coming soon. C’mon…. It's Thai happy new year time. Don’t be like a lazy cat sleeping and groaning on the carpet, ignoring the exciting event outside.

At least, Going temple and making merit would make auspicious period of life for Thai people. Anyhow, it is great opportunity for foreigners to learn the core of Thai traditional as well.

For Thai people needing to make merit, excluding the temple around its neighborhood, Sanam Laung could be a choice, comfortable with their large filed and great Buddha images are prepared for Buddhist to pay respect; also they could provide alms to monk as the auspicious occasion.

After that, joining the high light activity, surely, is water throwing.

I am counting down the day of the fest with jumping heart.  Splashing water around to others and preparing to protect myself from dirty guys (especially, dirty old men, hehehe^^) during the crowded avenue.

But….where to go for the fun?

KK

Khaonhiew Road, downtown

It is first choice. It’s cool because water buckets contained truck, water guns are allowed. People threw water to each other and no need to walk!  But I am quite far KK right now, and bus ticket must be hardly available in this special holiday, so this choice is unavailable!

So where to go?

\\(*0*)//

Chiangmai

Around the canal of the downtown is so-called for its cool celebrating during the fest. So many young and foreigners plan going there for the fest joining. But it is too far from my place and the way going there must be crowded by millions cars, it would take three days to get to the province! , so this choice is impossible!

So where to go?

The south; Phuket, Krabi, Pang-nga.etc

Last two years, I was around Patong beach, Phuket. It’s fun. So much water splashed and I rarely saw people  powdering white clay each other, and free water was available everywhere. Restaurants, hotels, shops, pubs and bars provided some cool water for travelers passing by its places. But water splashing was allowed only one day, 13th April. It’s too short! And I’ve been there already, so the south is not the choice.

So where to go?

BKK

Kao San Road

Rattanakosin Island circle

Thong Lor Avenue

Silom

And…..hmm……and…..and”””^””?  I am such a newly for BKK. I had been to Khaosan Road last year and it was absolutely boring! Not much water splashing and people were overcrowded. They just powdered others white clay chalks (mixed with water) and it made my hairs sticky. Also, the DailyXpress said that

Vehicles carrying buckets of water, water guns and people aiming to splash passers-by will lose their right to enter several Bangkok roads during this year's Songkran Festival. Enforced between April 11 and April 16, the ban will also cover Na Phra Larn, Rajdamnoen Nok and Rajdamnoen Klang roads. Even Khao San Road- a prime location for water-soaked revellers - won't be open to such vehicles from 9am to midnight during the period.”

///~7~///

Oh, I think they should dedicate their times and staffs thinking for better way help solving accidents problems on the main roads instead. OOP! Sorry, may be I say too much…^^

Where to go?  I asked my friends and one said gathering and making water splash in front of the PM’s house would be cool! Some journalists may notice and video us on air!….. According to the answer I assumed that she didn’t have any good ideas.^^

So…where to go?  Do you have any others recommended fun points for water splashing in BKK?  Where do people usually go? Or at least, tell me where you are going this long holiday as it might help me think a good idea out!

Ninja,
Good answer.
Where do I go in Songkran holidays ?.
Neither Pattaya nor Suttisarn road, but I will do my part, the target of water splash in front of our house.

Of course, I will do the Songkran rites with my elders and children on the morning, and I will not forget to call my mother, and brothers, sisters, who scatter and live around this globe.

In our culture is Cheng Meng day this time, the day to visit our ancestor tombs and shrine, cleaning the place that would have been littered, through last winter and frozen land may melt to damage the tomb and the shrine facilities.

All new born will be reported to the shrine registrar who will register their names in the Family History Book, that is printed, in book and in CD every 10 years.

Of course all of my children and wife had been duly registered in our 2500 years family history book.

This is what I will do over this new spring.

Wch, I would like to be Ninja mostly! The life in that era would be exciting…but if I could be, I wish I were independent ninja working to help people from immoral lord exploit!
And I use my laptop in my room for blogging…never blog during work hours

By the way, you haven’t answer my question according to the theme of this blog yet...please..

ニンジャ、Ninja

忍者 - 鎌倉時代から江戸時代の日本で大名や領主に仕え諜報や暗殺を仕事としていたとされる個人,集団。

Ninja is a spy cum assassin worked for a local lord during Japanese shogunate era.

Ninza in Han characters, means Loving and Merciful, that is number one virtue of a woman.

Which one will you choose ?.

Dont use office computer for your blogging, or your company webmaster will report it to your boss.

Hey..wch..Ninza? Me? Did you spell wrong? Wch, really thank you for your concern, but thanks Buddha Lord, I’ve already got a job!!!!
I’ve been working for three days. And….I didn’t do pony jumping during working hours. So don’t worry about it! hehehe
work hard, play hard, I always keep these words in my mind and dedicated for my boss assignments, but when the time for fun arrive, I just won’t hesitate for the sake freshen my life…if you know what I mean?

GG, the wealthy! hehehe…kindding na…now I begin to think the beach, Had Jao Sam Ran, sounds great! as it attract you to go back again, and readandwhitestripe’s blog writing about it sounds cool as well. I would visit the place one day if a chance arrives. For this year, I don’t have a car and haven’t got my first salary yet! So BBK is only one choice available for me, ^^
P.S. for your wife, what you’re gonna do to her would be better for family life. Family comes first! Remember it! It was what my father told me several years ago and it made me love him since then.

Naïve, at he moment, Soi Thong Lor seems to be outstanding choice more than others cuz it’s near my apartment,^^ and its road is quite big, so I think it may not be crowded. If there is no better choice, see me at Thong Lor, naïve!

You guys, bloggers, any other ideas? A great place around your house or your countries? for making merit or water splashing. Your ideas would inspire someone passing by here going there.CHEER!

Oh, this time, when I take my wife to the beach, I'll do something to make a chance to talk to her. I want to talk to her about that day at the pool... I'm going to find a way to explain to her that her being so stubborn is making me think negative about her, and that I don't want to think that way.

After I tell her that, I'll ask her if she has any idea on how I should have done on that day at the pool. Then I'll think about it, and if it's total nonsense, I'll just laugh at it, and forget about it.

If she says something logical, then hell, why not. Anything goes, right?

I'm going to Had Jao Sam Ran AGAIN.

It's the best place to go, given my situation. We just went there last week, but we're not bored of that place yet.

We'll be staying in a different resort though... the Sea Sky and Blue Sky are fully booked. So we booked the 'Chez Nous' place... it's the new place on the other side of the road. I'll let you guys know if it's any good.

Had Jao Sam Ran has enough water playing, and enough silence. If you want to play water, you can play as much as you want. But if you don't want to be splashed, just say so and they won't splash you. They all have families and children of their own, and they sometimes don't want to be splashed too.

And it's nearest too.
