A letter to God from cyclone refugees of Burma.

Dear God,

If you are out there, please hear us, see us and save us. I know you are out there.

I am writing this on behalf of all the suffering and dying disaster victims in Burma as my heart and soul are together with them right now.

It has been 10 days since the devastated cyclone hit to our  area and make our lives like a living hell. we are still waiting for you to allow people to come and save us. But we are hardly surviving our day to day in the past 10 days.

We are thirsty, starving and most of us are feeling sick by now. some of us are really sick . We are not sure this is really happening or  this is just the worst nightmare.

But we know this is happening as we can feel every second of sorrow and pain in us.
we can feel it on our crying children face and our  hungry and aching body.  When the night fall, we are under total darkness.

We  have heard that another storm and heavy rain is coming  to us in couple of days and we do not know how to face it since we have no shelter.

we heard some of the food sent from international community for us are stolen and some of us have just received only small percentage of it. Most of us do not receive them anyway.

There is no correct words to express our pain. This is soul piercing pain to us in every second.

Are you angry with us ?  Or it is evil and his followers act alone  in Burma ?  Or you forgot to protect us because you have been  to busy with many other parts of our  world? We know it is not easy to save everyone in this complicated world.

But  we believe with your power and love you can save us if you are willing to do so.

That is why I am writing to you to know what is going on with us in Burma. I hope this letter will arrive  to you on time  and no delay to save millions of us.

I have heard so many heart braking stories from my friends who are volunteering and working at the Irrawaddy delta area to help the victims. Some of them are crying when they spoke to me on the phone.

I know military generals do not care how many people suffer or die in this area or other area in Burma. 1, 2, 4, 10 millions. It is still not important for them.

The life and death of tens of thousands of children are not their priority, their priority is to tightly control  the Irrawaddy delta area and locking it down from the outside world so that  they can control the country, save the country ( at least that is what they think) from outsiders no matter what it may cost.

The impact of the disaster itself was so huge that military has never experienced like this before. And, the generals are extremely insecure and scare that this disaster would spark and set off the whole country into explosion. That is why they are trying to hide and lie the whole world and most importantly its own people.

They want to show the rest of the people inside Burma  that everything is under control and fine.

But, the catastrophic human disaster is about to happen in Burma.

International media and journalist, please do not lose your sight from us because you could not reach and see us. please do not  abandon us. please also do not take lightly when our local citizen reporter convey news about us because he is not from CNN or BBC.

Regime is locking down the Irrawaddy delta area day by day and news getting out of it would be harder .

It is a shame that our human race is the most intelligent in this planet, They have all the technology, experiences, knowledge and abilities to save the lives But doing so little to save us.We are human being too.

It is unimaginable that full capacity of relief aids are just minutes away by air drop and from sea access to the affected area,
But people are still discussing and talking and let the millions of us suffered.

If this scale of disaster happen in Africa or Latin America, we should have been saved by now.

UN and international community, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TO INTERVENE TO SAVE US NO MATTER WHAT CONSEQUENCES  IT WOULD BE IN BURMA RIGHT NOW.

We just only wish water, food, some medicine and temporary shelter and nothing else right now.
We do not really care about democracy, freedom nor human right at this time. We just want to live.

Finally God, please do not let evil plan to take over you.
The only thing we have now is faith upon you and our hope upon the people who have faith on you that they have plan to save us before all of us (over 1 million people) die.

Khakaborazi

PS: I believe  there is only one common God for all of us no matter what religion and faith we believe in or not believe .

It is after midnight here, my prayers, thought and soul are with every single one of surviving  but suffering  refugees in Burma.

Heart goes out to the people affected.

If there are gods, I suspect they don't have anything personally to do with inidividaul floods or earthquakes, or car crashes, or disease. It also seems strange that gods would create a universe that is so brutal and harsh.

Ever heard of natural processes, the weather, plate tectonics etc.

I believe there is only us, and we have to help each other because either god is either (a) cruel (b) cold (non involved) (c) non existent (d) unpredictable, unreliable, unknowable, and effectively irrelevant.

Actions speak louder than prayers (and seem to be more effective), so it has been good at least to see the people and governments of the world trying to help those affected by a natural disaster again.

Keep walking forward. Don't give up. Don't fed up.

Hope he hear what we're praying...

GGrass, Lalida, Ian, Catch and all,
Thank you all for your words and sympathey and being here.
It is hard to be living away from those suffering people and not being able to do much to help them as I can't go back to Burma.
But no matter what, I'll keep moving and keep trying to help them in my own scale wherever i am . At lease it make me feel relief for temporarily.
Thank you all.

If the junta go (IF) they must be given a way out without losing everything. I know it sounds unreasonable, but so is millions dying or starving or being forced into portering for the tatmadaw.

Personally, I'd love to see the main junta players assassinated...but what then...we got rid of Saddam and his cronies...made a real mess or Iraq.
Assassinations will see China move massively and quickly into Burma.

Half a dozen well placed bullets and Burma's problems can be solved. Until then those with the power of international veto will continue to be able to support the Devil.

I hate to tell you this, but whoever God you're talking to is not going to help, if he is. It wouldn't happen in the first place. Be brave and hold on, I'm sure people round the world are hearing you and help will come in any posssible way......
