Massive Genocide in Burma

Burma is in the media headline agian and under international attention in less than a year. But not for the good reasons that anyone wish for.

Death tool from Cyclone Nagris will pass more than 100,000 and estimated
almost 2 millions  people will be homeless, especially in the worst hit area of Irrawaddy delta region in Burma(Myanmar).

No one will know how many more  people will died  in post disaster due to poor
response of relief efforts aids and  spread of infectious diseases. One of the worst natural disasters in recent memory of Asia is happening in front of us.

This is not a time to talk about politics nor the  time to blame and finger
point to the ruling  military generals' mismanagemts in Burma.

But patience and endurance for of all of us, Burmese living inside Burma
and overseas and global  community  are however running out during the past few days.

UN and  international community is appealing,  begging to help disaster affected
millions of  victims insdie Burma. But  many aid agencies  workers are
still awaiting for military regime's permissions to get their visa to enter the country to help the people.

While the lives of millions of men, women and children are at stake and
grave danger aftermath of deadly Cyclone, the regime in Burma is virtually still blocking most of international aids and supplies including the aid offer from US.

Why are Than Shwe and his war lords so reluctant to allow most valuable assets of
foreign experts and aid workers who have expertise  and experiences of woking in this kind of emergency relief efforts.

Why is international community so kind to us (Burmese people) and why is our own government so curel and so stubborn to help its own millions of suffering people in this time of urgent needs.

Burma has been  hanging at the edge of socio-economic cliff for  the past few years . The generals' grave fear of loosing power and insecurity of their lives
have blinded them from seeing and thinking as a  normal human way.

Blocking humanitarian aids and help in time of  life and death is a genocide act of Burmese regime to their own people. This is act of genocide, torture and  a mass murder to the natural disaster victims. Tens of thousands of  us are waiting for dying without inadequate relief efforts and help.

This military regime in Burma is one of the most monstrous government on earth that international community still allow to rule innocent lives of over 57 millions people in this resource rich, Buddhist dominated peaceful but unfortunate country.

My family members, relatives and friends who live in Rangoon (Yangon) are
affected by this deadly storm too.

Most of us living away from home couldn't stop thinking about the losses
and suffering of tens of thousands of
our country man . Some Burmese living in overseas avoid to watch the  images shown in TV and media since they  could not  bare anymore  since we all know that  actual situation in Burma is always 10 to 20  times worse than what we see on TV and media reports.

Many villages in the delta area would have been totally washed away to the
sea and we never know the exact number of
people living there and how did they ended their life journey.

I tried to pray and do my best to help  surviving victims like many others
from thousands miles away.

To me, being a Burmese, under this  circumstance, the dead are luckier than the one who left behind and still struggling to survive.

It may sounds cruel. But it is ture that the dead  are lucky enough to be totally
wiped out from their suffering life . For the dead, It is the end of their suffering while barely surviving under opressive military regime's brutal rules.
for the living Burmese, their seemingly endless suffering will continue as long as
this regime is in power in Burma.

Sometimes, I imagine that being animal in the some places of the world are
better than being a Burmese under this regime.

This tragic event  happening at home make me think what is right, wrong
and fairness on this politically and economically complicated world.

Burmese have extreme tolerance to pain and suffering. Many of us  live Buddhism way of live with peace and content with their lives. Like many other Burmese, I  hate wars and violence in  modern civilized world.
But the inhumane act of Burmese military generals after this disaster make me believe that not every war is bad.
Sometimes, there might be good wars on earth that we all worth fighting for.
I start to think war is fair and a good thing to do when it is saving
millions of innocent lives of woman and children and freeing them from their suffering once and for all.

International relief efforts and taking care of  the disaster affected victims,  their recovery and resettlement  are undoubtedly No1 priority  work right now for all of us.
But we need more than international emergency aids and rescue efforts in
Burma.

We need a lot. A lot more for our crying and dying children not only in this disaster affected area, but the rest of the country and for entire population in Burma. We need a brave, decisive  UN and international community to intervene and  rescue us from this military regime.

The generals wanted nothing more than to thin out the population, see lands destroyed and then seize them. This is a present from above for them.

Of course they care not where the inhabitants go to rot.

Catch 22, I hate to be cynical. But I must admit that sometimes the junta may love it that the cyclone did it for them.

I think Genocide is the right word if the junta keeps refusing the humanitarian aids to the needy.

I agree.
The vile generals of Burma are committing genocide, and any nation that supports them is guilty of aiding and abetting that crime against humanity.

Absolutely - in this case genocide means anyone who does not belong to or kow tows to the military.
Than Shwe has openly declared that Burma would be much better off without Karen, Mon, Shan, Rakhine, Kachin et al. For the military the more people that die the better off they are, they don't care about people anyway, they are only a hinderance to their lavish lifestyles in Napidaw.
As Scrooge once said;
'better they die and decrease the surplus population'....this is the military's thinking!

Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group.

Yes, it is, as of today,
