End of the World - Mind over matters

Recently, there has been a talk of the "Planet Nibiru" going around my friends.

For those who have never heard of such Planet;

According to translations of the Sumerian texts by Zecharia Sitchin, author of “The 12th Planet”, says that a massive object orbits our sun once every 3600 years, called Nibiru by the ancients, its catastrophic flybys have driven the evolution of humankind in the past.  If the Mayan 2012 calendar prophecy is right, it could return within the next decade.

Some sites pictures taken by NASA and say that above prophecy is coming true, and that in near future, we'll see the "End of the World".

Digest above with another information that;

By studying radioactive signatures on south pole ice, which was frozen for millions of years, scientists sites that the Earth’s magnetic field which currently is moving from North Pole to South Pole, was once moving opposite direction – South to North.  And when such change took place some million years ago, there were devastating destruction which might have led to the extinction of dinosaurs.  The cause of such change in direction of the magnetic field is of course not known, but may have something to do with comet flying by too close to earth.

Possible?

Though elderly readers may provide more information, I remember of this kind of talks coming and going... time after time... But we've survived 2000 scenario of computers going nuts by not able to count the dates properly, and number of religious manias foreseeing Armageddon and Judgment day never happened, which led the terminator, Arnold Swalz-nigger (Pardon my French) out of job and join the mob in California as the head of gangs.

This recent Nibiru caught my interest, knowing oil & commodities price hitting record high, and that current economy is agile then ever before.  We are seeing more natural disasters, latest in our neighboring country Myanmar.  With more disasters continue, a thought of end of the world is not very crazy.

After learning about this Nibiru, I was deeply depressed by the thought that this End of the World might happen during my life time.  I won’t accept that I have to leave my loving family and my life and end it just over night.  Thought where would be the safest place to be, and what valuables can still feed me and my family after all chaos rule the earth was causing much headache.

What a waste of time, worrying about things that didn’t and maybe would never happen.

So… this week, I planted mango tree on my factory garden.

All: thanks for the comments.

As Hermano_Lobo points out, yes, there were many predictions involving catholics on the basis of the Bible and related scripts. I remember a few that relates to comets and alien things...

But isn't it funny, when these stories are widely spread, economy wasn't so good... I guess the fear of unknown combined together with worsening present condition makes one heck of story.

St Malachy's prediction of the last Popes is accurate so far.
Paul VI -Flos Florum
(Flower of Flowers)
John Paul I De Medietate Lunae
(Of the Middleness of the Moon)
John Paul II
De Labore Solis
(Of the Eclipse of the Sun, or from the Labour of the sun or from the pregnancy of the sun)
Benedict XVI
De Gloria Olivae
(The Glory of the Olive or "To the Olive")
Petrus Romanus
(Peter Roman) In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oues in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis ciuitas septicollis diruetur, et Iudex tremdus iudicabit populum suum. Finis.
(In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations; when they are over, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible or fearsome Judge will judge his people. The End.)

The average for the Papal Office is seven years.

If we now have the penultimate Pope. December 2012 looks like a scary prediction

Felix,
One side of your brain is totally dominant. All thinking and mickey-mouse logic. If you can't kick it or hit it with a stick, it doesn't exist. You must be the life and soul of any party.
Yawn.

I have a problem with trying to accept as coincidence that so many different cultures around the world have chosen the same date.
We think we know what causes magnetic reversals and one is imminent.

If the world ends, it will be because we end it.

And we won't really end the world, all we'll end is our role in it, and the role of all the other species we take out with ourselves.

I'm betting on GG's ripe mango tree. (I think.)

Jun: So it's a race between your mango tree and the planet Nibiru, huh...

Which one will come first: The ripe mango or the catastrophic planet?
