Do you give a damn about Ross, (the first editor of the New Yorker)?

“Nobody gives a damn about a writer or his problems except for another writer,” that’s what Harold Ross, the first editor of the New Yorker told his staff writers. By saying this, Ross instructed his staff writer that pieces about authors, reporters, poets, etc are to be discouraged in principle.Yes, I agreed.However, I must break Ross’s rule after I read the book titled “The Years with Ross” written....

Letter from the US: Report from CNN

What will you choose between good video clip/bad journalism or bad clip/good journalism? That’s what I asked one of CNN editors during my recent visit to CNN headquarters.I will give you the answer at the end of this article as a reward for putting up with my story. By the way, yes, I had a chance to visit to CNN headquarters where 2200 staff in three shifts is working. It is in Atlanta. CNN compound....

Letter from the US: 9/11 Memory at Pentagon

I had an opportunity to visit Pentagon one day after the 6th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the US. On Sept 11, the US mourned the victims with ceremony attended by survivors and victims. Pentagon is one of the targets where 184 people were killed by the plane clash. I wish I could show you the picture. But they didn’t allow the photo inside that Pentagon building, the world’s largest ....
