Our contribution to 'SIN TAX'

Continuing the theme from my previous blog, How much do you contribute to 'Sin Tax'? In another words, how much do you smoke, and drink? For moi, I consume on the average, 1 pack of cigarette / week (3 joints / day) 0.5 bottle of large bottle of beer / week 0.5 glass of red wine / week How about yous?

Evil: 3-4 boxes per week... that's like half a pack a day... A bit too much there, buddy... For me, half a pack a day is too much. Half of half would be about right. (5 joints per day)

Free beer huh... The most delicious beer is free beer.

As for wine, I don't like Shiraz... Not that I can tell the difference between a Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon... but the name 'Shiraz' sounds like it's going to be sour, and I don't like sour tasting wine.

I like more... bitter tasting wine.

Tammy: What's your favorite 'junk food'? Mine's potatoe chips. I can eat potatoe chips for lunch and dinner.

I don't have to pay for sin tax but I pay much more on VAT of many kinds of junk food. :8-)

Hi GG. As much as I want to be against the increased in sin taxes - it is a good way to reduce buying cigarettes or drinking.

Cigarettes in Malaysia costs 82 baht - the ones I smoke at least but I buy a whole carton at duty free whenever I travel - so I stock them up at home. My average cost for duty free cigarettes are about 59 baht per box. More expensive when I am in Singapore because we are only allowed to bring in one open box into Singapore - and usually one box doesnt last long.

I smoke around 3-4 boxes a week and it can be more when it is crunching time at work or can be non at all when I am vacationing somewhere.

How many bottles of beer per week? - umm.. about a can of Tiger a day - well the reason is that my sister-in-law works in Guinness so I get crates of beer for free.

GF is a wine drinker so we consume a bottle of Shiraz a week or more - again buying in bulks / promotional periods or at duty free to keep cost down as sin tax here is much higher.
