Birth... Getting Old... Getting Sick... and what comes next? (reposted)

First of all, my apologies to Nepal, Ninja, and Catch... I had to delete the first edition of this blog because of some noise from someone. So your valuable comments disappeared too, but I remember them, and I'll acknowledge them in my comment.

For Indian audiences, this blog contains quotes from Pink Floyd. So sue me.

Birth... The new born babies can't tell you how torturing it must be, to leave the comfort of their mothers' wombs, and to breath air for the very first time, but if I  close my eyes and try to imagine what it'd be like, it'd probably be like drowning. Drowning in air.

Getting old... My idol, Pink Floyd said it best...

"And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death"

And Getting Sick... You are incapacitated and you can only dream of walking to the toilet to piss... as you see your own waste flow down the tube, you know the time has come. As you lie on your death bed dying, the memories are killing you all over again... The memories of what used to be... what could be... what should be... Tears roll down your face, but they dry up before reaching the pillow.

"Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say"

Yeah... I thought I'd something more to say, but there is no more time.

And what's to come next? After birth... getting old... and getting sick... what awaits me?

I can only hope death will comfort me in the end.

I just realized, LIFE is not all about birth, getting old, getting sick, and dying.

It's about what you do in between...

As death is inevitable it seems rather pointless getting worked up about it. Even a few loose ends if it gets you by surprise don't really matter, they become someone elses problem.
I hope there is an afterlife, but if there isn't I won't know it:-)
All of my children are well on their way up the ladder and my conscience is pretty happy with my past life.
My genes have been pretty well spread around
In the balance I think I have done more good than harm, so now I'm basically hanging around having quiet fun and waiting for nature to get bored and pull my plug. I'm in no hurry

I have often found myself feeling embarrased after looking at Veen's philosophy of life.

Must be those late Saturday and Sunday nights eh Veen

P veen: Oho... 50 million satang... ;-)

P veen's comment makes me realize how different life can be, depending on how or who is looking at it.

I shall try to look at it with half full eye. (not half empty)

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (veen)

Inspired by GG and Catch 22

Birth: starting one's journey and there is no identical journey.

Make me think of Forrest Gump: My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

Getting old: so you appreciate the youth and enjoy seeing your offspring growing up

Getting sick: so that you know how precious is one's health and how useless is other material things.

Death: something that brings you the end of your exhuasted body from a very very long journey. Immortality will make living less worthwhile.

my 50 satangs

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (from Monty Python) Words and music by Eric Idle

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

"all the world is a stage and all the players actors"

Nepal asked if our lives are drama, world a stage, we the actors, with God as the director.

Well, true for all parts, except the God being the director. I believe we are the directors.

Sometimes I feel like I (my body) am a puppet. And my mind is God. The two seem so far apart, yet cannot be separated.

The body which lives my life is not even myself... My hands are doing this and that... but it has nothing to do with what I (true self) am doing... or wishes to do.

My mouth is saying things, but it's got nothing to do with what I (true self) wishes to say...

It's like there's two persons in me. One, the actor, and the other, the director.

And the actor just won't follow the director's orders! That's the shitty part... it really gets fruststrating...

The director in me has long been dormant. It's beginning to wake up again... and I don't think it's a good thing, coz it makes my life more complicated. If you have voices in your head, but you're not sure who's it is, won't it be complicated? It's brain sizzling.... (and I haven't touched that bong for a LONG time, honest truth.)

Yeah.... life is a drama... comedy... tragedy... a god damn joke, if you asked me... and the world is a stage... made up of fake screens and props... it's where you stand and dance to other people's tune...

And you and I.... we are just actors... following the script laid out by the director....

AND I REFUSE TO TAKE OTHER PEOPLE'S ORDERS!! NOT EVEN GOD'S!!

I AM THE ONE, THE ONLY, THE ACE, THE INCREDIBLE DIRECTOR GGRASS! SO DON'T NOBODY SAY OTHERWISE!!!!!

(In case you're wondering what I had for dinner, which is making me go loco, I had suki. I suggest you stay away from suki if you don't want to 'lose it' and go loco like me.... but it feels daaaamn gooooood to go loco once in awhile. )
